Default coil packs

Researching coils for my new LS7 build. I'm hearing the GM coils are pretty good already. Anything else out there that might be worth looking at? Also, apparently there are 2 different coils for the LS7, a "square" coil and a "round" one. Summit lists the part #s as being 12611424 & 12573190. Advance lists the numbers as 12570616 & 12573190. Is one better than the other? thanks

Default Ignition Coils IGN-1A

I have both GM style coils, the GEN-IV and the ?
We have all the LS-x coil family, our improved version. (10%)

The BEST best choice for MAX Power is the IGN-1A kit.

What is you Expected HP/Future HP ?

Typically the IGN-1A kit will produce 18 HP increase on a 500 HP engine.
This coil kit is reported by users the increase fuel millage.
This is the SAME coil REQUIRED for NHRA Pro-Stock competition.

Lance, BTW we supply the Summit/Atech "store brand".

I went to your website and did not see a "IGN-1A" kit. What all comes with the kit and what is the $? We just dynoed the engine last week and got 680 FWHP N/A. We are hoping to squeeze a few more HP before it is done. This is a mostly street car at the moment - 70 Camaro, T-56 - LS7 platform.

Default Pantera EFI : New Products

Hi, thanks for your interest.
The site "Panteraefi.com" will show this kit in the New Products section.

You may also "find" here, GEN-III, sticky-"truck coil upgrade" - last page.

Under what sub-title in the "new products" section is this kit shown? I don't see anything labeled "IGN-1A".

I saw a picture of some kit in the "truck coil upgrade" stickie you mentioned, but it was not labeled as "IGN-1A".

Also, I still don't know how much this kit costs...Thanks.

Very nice. My car makes ~1200rwhp and 2 of the stock coils are finally giving out. Looking at what to do.

Lance, can youI send me info on that kit. I already have firecore 50 promod wires that should work fine.

Low country why are you looking at upgrading? For a NA motor, or anything <1000rwhp I don't see a need at all. I snapped the end off of 2 of mine from working on the car so much is the only real reason I'm looking to get new ones. My car makes over 1200rwhp and zero spark issues, but figured while it is apart see what is out there before buying OEM replacements.

This is a new build and I haven't bought the coils yet. The prices I'm seeing for the GM parts are $70 to $80 a piece for the 12611424 or 12570616 not including brackets and wires. So it all comes down to price. If these are not too much more, I thought it would be a nice upgrade...

You can get complete set of GM coils for ~$250 for 8
Brackets are super cheap or near free. I have several sets in garage I could mail you.

Default Counterfit Coils

Hi ALL, we do have all the GM LS coils and about 200+ others.
The price is a bit higher (than $28.00) as the coils I manufacture/design MUST a have greater output due to contract requirements.

Then there ARE SOME "knock-offs" made to a low quality requirement to justify LOW cost.

There are some "counterfit" coils marked with the numbers the Dayton Engineering Laboratory COmpany requested.

My suggestion, spend a bit more for a POWERFUL coil, as it will pay for the cost difference by reducing fuel consumed.

Talked with Lance over the weekend and I'm going to try the 1A kit. Just waiting to hear back from him. Price was as expected. Not cheap but not crazy either.

Coils ordered. Going to see what they do on a high HP street boosted 427. Hopefully I can open the gap up some.

Got my coils. I think the biggest pain is just going to be putting the new ends on the spark plug wires.

Looks like a nice kit. Lance was quick and easy to deal with.

Interesting on the coil upgrade. I'm running truck D585 coils with good luck, but on a few track passes I had some stumbling on the big end, no one heard it, but i could feel it. Looking over the logs, I have egt per cylinder and would notice right around 5500 in high gear a cylinder would start to go cold. Swap coils and all was well, but had three of them do this over the year

I'm wondering if an upgrade like this might be in my future?
