Default LT1 to LS3 swap questions

Hello all, so I seem to have come across a pretty good deal for a pullout from a new Camaro. I have been planning on an LS swap for a while now, and I am curious if (assuming I get my transmission straightened out and all other parts needed such as K-member, fuel system and such) I can just drop in the engine with all the 5th Gen accessories? If that would work, I think I'll just be going that way.

Long story short, can I use the accessory drive from a new Camaro in my LT1 body car?

Thank you!

I would think that you'd need an accessory drive from a 4th Gen, LS1 powered F-body.....which I don't think is the same as the LS3 accessory drive.

Only a guess, though.

I know the 4th gen setup will fit, I'm just wondering if the 5th gen stuff will fit without issue so I can save some time and money scrounging.

I don't think it will fit, but you should ask in the Conversion Hybrid section.

I'm on the same path as you- Swapping an LS3 with 6L80 into my 93 LT1 T/A

From what I've heard & read, the 5th gen accessories & mounting hardware won't work (fit) in our 4th gens LT's, so we need to get the LS1 4th gen accessory stuff.
We also need to switch to the LS steering rack and steering linkage.

Lots of misinformation out there!!!

5th Gen L99/LS3 Camaro front accessories WILL fit 4th gen F-bodies!

Your main issue is the Air Intake setup, Over the radiator is going to be the easiest solution, There is information out there about modifying a '98-'02 radiator hold down to fit '93-'97 cars......V6 & V8 cars use the same hold down.....The Lid is V8 specific.

4th gen accessories would give you a little more room for a intake pipe to go to the left like a LT1 car, But still have doubts about a 4" pipe fitting through there!

No factory power steering hose will fit, I built my own using AN fittings. You will need a '98-'02 rack & pinion & steering shaft.

If you want A/C, You will need some custom hoses made.

You don't need to change your wiring.
It looks like you should spend a lot of time doing research. That's a easy swap.

it definitely requires wiring changes. The Ls3 uses different injectors, sensors are located in different spots and it is also DBW and not drive by cable. So maybe you can provide some insight and be helpful instead of telling me to do research. I have talked to multiple shops and they respond with it would be cheaper to build my LS1 for more power. If it is so easy you should be able to answer my question then. There really is not alot online of the technicalities of the swap. Its a Fbody Camaro
