Default Need help identifying this threaded hole

Need help identifying this threaded hole for a buddy. Engine and valley cover are LS3. The hole is just behind the last bolt in the valley cover on passenger side, across from the oil pressure sending unit. What it the purpose of this hole?

Maybe I'm wrong but from what I understand the only steam ports are in the heads (2 in rear, 2 in front) which are all connected already via the black braided line running in front of the oil pressure unit.

I thought the oil pressure sending port was the part to the right with the green tape on it?? The hole I'm asking about is to left of that.

Here you go. This is a 2010 iron 6.0 I tore it down last weekend. There wasn't anything in that hole. You can see the opening from underneath. Threads are completely rusted from being open and exposed. Unless the aluminum block is different. Try to reach under and see if you can feel the hole.

Good info, thanks. I'm going to see if its the same way tonight and report back. If it is the same then I guess its safe to assume its just a dummy hole left over that had a purpose on some other Ls/Lq block or chassis platform?

So apparently it is the same like your pics FMonster but it is not open at the bottom side of the hole (not a through hole). Hmm, unless anyone has anything else to add I'm just going to assume its a dummy hole with no purpose.
