Default LME Ls7 billet intake

anyone running the Ls7 billet intake by LME in there 4th gen camaro. Spoke with Brian over at LME he said his intake is 7.5" tall at its highest point, which is 1.25" taller than a stock ls1 intake.

Default LME Intake Manifold

I am considering the LME Billet Intake with the inside mount fuel rail option for my planned DART LS NA 427~440 Show Build. However, due to the price points; customer reviews are about as common as hen's teeth.

LME also explains the purpose of the taller front lobe when compared to other competing billet manifolds. Likewise, the LME aesthetics is a step ahead, which in part; suits my show car build, combined with its low-profile fit.

If anybody has purchased one; I'would be pleased to read your comments.

Regards,

The Borowski appears to be another good option with a straight line OTR air-flow. Likewise, he offers a Race Lid option for additional volume; which my hood would likely accommodate. His design seems to address flow monitor/ports differently from Plaz' and LME i.e. right-rear as viewed from the front.

Thanks again for your help.

wow some nice intakes from plazaman and borowskirace, both low profile. i was thinking of going with a lsx tall deck, these would with clearance under the stock SS hood.

bigs28man,

I had an LSx build configured up by LME, but I upgraded to the DART MID block with their LME intake. I was told they have a straight-line TB flange mount that will fit. I have to see it before I decide, but after seeing the other options, the decision process is more straightforward. Still deciding between the 427 and the 440 for my NA build.

I opted for the slightly taller 'Race Lid' which adds about an extra inch in height, with considerably more volume. As it stands now, I'm shooting for a 427 NA with 750hp as my target for a 'street performance' build.

Sidebar: Have to say that it's also a beautiful looking piece, and it will go nicely with my show-grade engine bay config.

God that is beautiful......I think i need it! After the LS3 intake shootout article I was kind of bummed because for my setup I didnt see any real lookers that justified swapping my OE ls3 intake on my build. I was content with my power level....that said any of these really fits what i want for an intake appearance wise, and im sure id gain some umph as well.

excited to see some installed pics what car you running this in Saber?

Thank you blackbyrd. I have already started a photo portfolio for my build, and I hope to post it when the engine swap is complete.

As a kid of the 60-70s, I always liked the 'plain jane' sleeper cars over the cool Chevelle, Camaro, and the like'. Today is no different, so I opted for the last year of production Chevy SS Sedan w/stock LS3, aka the Holden Commodore of Australia. In fact, unless you see it up close, it looks like an Impalibu'.
Case in point; it's even hard for me to grasp that these two photos represent 24k of mods to date, and not one of them is under the hood.

I completely understand that sentiment!

Why my daily is the "caviler on sterioids" not much to look at to most but is a performer. Beautiful SS though, Im hoping that intake fits the 4th gen bay with minimal mods. Looking forward to some more pics for sure!

Well, if you have any concerns, you could opt for the Corvette version in either LS3 or LS7 which rides about an inch lower for hood clearance. It's called out on their website, e.g., with 'Pro Series' engraving. I called them direct to sort out the details. I spoke with Alex (manager), and he is a great guy. If you do, please tell him that I referred you, because I said that I would. No kickbacks for me; just keeping my word.

*UPDATE* As much as I wanted a tall deck, I can't count on the fit-up in my chassis. Also, a 9.750 would change the head flange location, and my ARH Headers were made to fit a 9.240 LS3. So, I opted for an LS 9.240 alloy block with a raised cam location and the LS7 styled DART 12º Pro1 285cc Heads. Hopefully, this will still provide enough lift to reach my target.

Regards,
Dan Ortego

thats awesome that the corvette version runs an inch lower, seeing as though I was looking into the lsx tall deck that would almost cancel each other out (standard deck height 9.2 tall deck 9.7 ) so im a 1/2" lower then stock height which i already know will clear.

They are one in the same. If you look closely at one of the photos from the Borowski website, you can see the engraving reads 'Borowski by Plazmaman'
