Default coolant crossover lines, do i do the rear? recommendations and tips.

dart 427 ls3 with afr heads. my ECT for the computer is in the standard spot but i also have a dash temp gauge that i have coming off the passenger rear port which reads hotter. i was told this was going to happen but i have also been told its because of steam pockets in the #7 and #8 area. i have a crossover line on the front but do i do the rear as well? i have read good things on the Nitrous Outlet one, but also is a simple crossover line just as good? so what does everyone else do?

like 10-13 degrees hotter. i was told by couple people this would happen. its just a minor annoyance for me, but i prob should vent all 4 corners.

I would like to see the results of you doing a rear crossover, and coolant temps afterwards. 10-13 sounds like a big difference to me. I say try the rear vent setup.

well yeah thats the point, the question at hand is what have people done and gone with, does venting the rears to each other or tying all 4 corners together make for better results.

Maybe it's the AR/OCD part of me speaking, but I would think all 4 corners hooked up would just do a better job keeping any wayward bubbles evacuated from the system, thereby keeping things on the cooler side. I know GM quit on that design, but I think it was GM being CHEEEEP.

What intake are you running? That will help you decide on exactly what you can or can’t fit as far as lines go.

My current motor I sliced and diced 2 truck coolant crossovers with hose and clamps to tie all 4 together.

My pics won't help as I'm running a super Vic. Never ran a fast intake but I would assume that they will fit over the stock4 corner steam tubes and there is 1 or 2 of them in the classifieds now. But when using the 2 truck ones I think I remember having to bend the tube on back of drivers head pretty good to clear the oil pressure sensor. The 2 truck lines, 1/4" brass tee, hose and clamps is all that's needed. Doesn't really matter how you run them as long as they're all tied back together. If I ever upgrade the factory radiator I will get one with a 3/8" nipple on it so that I can tie the 1/4" line from the front and back into a 3/8" tee to promote more flow.

Being that it's cooling system pressure, at the risk of oversimplification, it's a matter of plumbing all four corners to a common hose to empty into the hot side radiator tank. The object is to get any and all bubbles out of the system. Easy to overthink it, but try to avoid it. It's simple plumbing.
Edit: Looks like Tug686spd and I are thinking in parallel lines....

guy on eBay has a nice four corner, $100 bucks? I got a few fittings from fragola because things were in the way{manifold} and WA-LA!

I will elaborate, I bought the "four corner kit" from the guy on EBAY, just because of the way it sat and hooked up I ended up buying some more fittings from a "fragola dealer" on ebay and I ended up reusing the stock front vents and I made rear vents that worked for me and I just routed them in the same overflow line that the stock vents go too with a 3/8X1/4X3/8 TEE, My LS2 always "burped" really well after engine work and believe it or not I agree with G Atsma on how can it hurt to do the rears two?

I had the KUP system on my Fast 102 setup but from what I'm hearing if you have the MSD your going to be running into issues. The KUP is a very nice setup for sure though!

quick update, so i went with the nitrous outlet kit. so far highly not impressed. it works and it fits but barely. if you had the engine out of the car on a stand it would be simple but nothing comes clocked and you have to look at the pictures online for right clocking. also its a giant pain in the dick to get it all because you have to (at least for me) pull the intake and test fit everything, clock the fittings, get the intake back on to check fitment, then remove the intake again to tighten everything up. like i said if it was out of the car im sure it would be great, engine in car is pain in the dick. also the quality of the fittings are not that great. i snapped an AN fitting which is something i have NEVER done before. so will it work, yeah of course, just wish the instruction were included or available on how to clock fittings because it would save a tremendous amount of time and at least half the "god dammit" moments.
