Default LS1 MAP sensor in LS3 intake

I am looking for an adapter to use a LS1 MAP sensor on the LS3 intake manifold or do the adapter wires really work? Supposedly Magnuson make a sleeve kit for this. Anyone know about this?

I would be interested also. At the moment I just used a copious amount of rtv sealant

The part you’re talking about is from a supercharger kit

Well that's disappointing. That looked like the perfect solution.

The other solutions involves using 3/8 tubing.

That magnuson part could be replicated with a lathe. A machine shop could make one for you, but it isn't worth the time or money for most.

I saw that post. I will probably go that route and fab up a hold down tab. The magnuson just looked really clean.

Fancy. I didn't even go that far. I just used small piece of plastic tubing that I cut as a spacer, a washer, and screw

I meant I'll probably use the tubing as a spacer. I like the idea of using a washer.

Why not just put the right size sensor in it and cut in the pigtail for the right sensor? Seems like it would be less work much cleaner and no risk.

I can buy an adapter for the LS3 Map sensor but the problem is I will be using a LS1 PCM for this and from what I have read it will not read correctly.. there is talk back and forth about it being tunable but i figured using the LS1 map would just simplify things.

Oh okay I see. But if you need to get it tuned anyway it may make more sense to just go with the LS3. Have you considered talking to the tuner and seeing what he says about it? If he already knows about it it may be real easy.. maybe.

There's some info here regarding the inability to set the parameters correctly in a GenIII calibration for a LS3 MAP sensor, and the recommendation was to use a LS1 sensor instead.

I saw this thread. It is a 3 bar sensor but I assume it would still work. If you follow the one link, it shows the tune changes required. I assume it is still valid?

What I did was remove the rubber seal from the LS1 MAP sensor and cut a slightly smaller length of 1/4 ID-3/8 OD clear plastic tubing and inserted it over the stem of the MAP sensor. Then re-installed the rubber seal over the piece of tubing which gave me a snug fit in the manifold. I then applied a small amount of RTV sealant up near the top of the rubber seal before installation to help insure a good seal. Now just to make a little hold down bracket and bolt it into place.
