Default Help with ls2 oil cooler kit

Hello everyone,

Do any of you know where I can get an LS2 oil cooler kit with the thermostatic option?

Here in Australia, it is impossible to find a kit to suit due to the age of my vehicle.

I have only come across some cheap chinese ones but I do not trust them.

The specifications would be for a 2005 pontiac GTO which has the same chassis as my vehicle.

I would appreciate the help.

Check with Improved Racing in Florida. They do all kinds of oil system stuff and might have what you need.

Our Australian distributor, VCM Performance, can you you all of the parts you need. We don't have a kit for the GTO specifically, but we have everything you need to piece one together. There is an OEM cooler mounting bracket in front of the radiator that works great for mounting the cooler if your car is a manual and that bracket is available for use.

PM me if you want help piecing together the components you need and then you can order everything from VCM.

They contacted me through here.
They have a dealer in Australia which is good news although their stuff looks quite expensive.

Yeah I knew the name from here. They have a good reputation, but I have no personal experience with them. I have a feeling prices might have jumped a bit going across the Pacific, though I imagine they might be a bit dear on this side too. There are other oil system component suppliers, but my mind is blank on them now. (it's late here.... lol)

I’m running an Improved 520 cooler, with their -10 lines, fittings and thermostat. Have about $800 in it but it’s quality I can trust. I watch my oil temp gauge a lot and it stays about 180-185.

As long as something is KNOWN "Good Stuff", it is worth the extra $$$$, if for nothing more than peace of mind, which is a valuable commodity!

Good info gentlemen.
I might get an oil temp gauge installed.
Seems to be a good idea.
