Best LS7 head for maximum hp and torque?
But on the heads my friend...I've researched all! Darin and G Good have ls7 CID custom port heads. Darin's was listed @ $5k.all pro, brodix big spring, CID , mast for the Best casting. Have yet to see anything beat Mast straight OTB.
Chris Frank F10 heads have the best features.. someday I may get a set of Chris Frank heads without the CNC that or STR8 mast head and place my Custom Darin port work into it... Digitalization with a CNC, via Rowdy Yates Ls7 heads

Which is why I went with the 11-degree LS3 stuff. It's essentially the same... same valves, laid over valve angle for a straighter shot, etc. Just the valve spacing is goofy LS3 where the intake valve is smashed against the cylinder wall. But on a big bore combo where that's less of a problem, I bet they are within 10HP of most LS7 heads that flow in the 400cfm range. More intake manifold options too.

Or consider aftermarket "small-bore" LS7 heads, for better flow dynamics with the 4.125" bore.
Bigger isn't always better, and sometimes a more efficient, better thought out combination, can provide the results you are looking for.
Finding heads with the higher coefficient of discharge, and a higher exhaust flow ratio may give you the results you want with a smaller cam.

The cubes and Ls7 heads already give good bottom end power,
With more compression and tuning this will only be further enhanced.
But you are right, it depends on the combo and what you are trying to achieve.
