LS7 crate engine crank flange dimensions needed
Hi Guys,
Anyone has handy an LS7 crate engine?
I need to know ASAP the dimensions on the attached drawing. I ordering a Holinger tranny, and they need these dimensions asap. But my engine is on the container ship over the ocean.... Wont see before October..
I tried with GM, but they could not help me with this.
Thank You!

This site is pretty horrible at answering questions these days...I think the measurements you seek would be the same for all LS engines. I’m sure someone has a LS3 sitting around.
My question is why a shop even needs these measurements. Are you their first LS engine customer? Seems odd.

If I had an LS crank in the shop...that wasn’t in an engine...I’d get these for you in a couple of minutes. As BA said, all modern LS cranks will share these dimensions. I looked on the inter webs last night for a good while for you, and couldn’t find anything.

Ok, I’ve got some numbers for you. This was taken from an aluminum 6 liter in my shop, that I used with a t56, so it has a pilot bearing in the crankshaft still. It’s not an ls7, but there’s no difference dimensionally at the rear of the engines, from an ls7 to my ls2. Now...the crankshafts in these, as well as any engine will have front to rear play, due to the thrust bearing clearances. Keep that in mind. There’s .003” to .008” or even more movement front to rear at the crank. Not sure if that messes with the dimensions you need or not. For some reason, I thought I was reading that you needed dimensions with the crank out of the engine, but I read your post again this evening and I realized that I could help you after all...
L1 is 31.35 mm
L2 is 7.52 mm
L3 is 15.57 mm
01 pilot bearing I.D. Is 14.96 mm
02 is 52.47 mm
