Rod mod for boost?

Default Rod mod for boost?

Has anyone successfully run a rod modded factory intake manifold with up 15 PSI boost?

I am planning to port the intake to match a larger throttle body and will probably try some port matching.

What else can be done to improve the intake manifold and still run a little boost?

Not a good idea at all. The mod involves making holes in the plastic and sealing it back up. Asking for issues with boost against it.

I don't know about the rod modded LS3 intake but I do have a massaged intake on my car now that on 15 pounds went 9.3 in my car @143. Im getting ready to pull that intake off in the coming weeks. Well see if this BTR equalizer 3 makes any difference.

Stock LS3 intake/90mm TB with zero porting makes 1200rwhp on my turbo 6.2. Minor cleanup I'm sure won't hurt.... but don't go making holes in it under pressure.

I've seen stock LS3 intakes as high as 1400+ whp.
I'd say any modification to it is basically a waste of money, especially if it involves cutting it up.

As the others said. I'd skip the radius rod mod for boost. The rod mod intake I had flow tested had several holes cut in the bottom and filled. The mid is worth while for NA as NA every little tweak for hp matters very much. For boosted applications the $$$ is better spent else where.
