My mutt loves that ****.... Then promptly "deposits" it on the kitchen floor.
Traps... It's the second rat that gets the cheese.
I had a dog too. What I did was put the poison pellets inside a soda bottle. Mice can get in to eat the poison, but not the dog. LOL. Worked great.

Home Depot and Lowes sells baggies of mint/rodent repellent that I've put in customer's engine area for this exact issue. It falls in line with peppermint oil as well but a dry baggy that can be tucked in areas away from heat.

People claim that mice don't like the smell of Irish Spring soap. I got a couple bars and cut them up and placed them on plates in the car over winter a couple years ago. I'd check on the car every once in a while. Come spring, I grabbed the soap and noticed that one bar had teeth marks on it. No chewed wires but I lost faith in Irish Spring.

Stopped finding dead pests last year. Must of wiped out the whole neighborhood or they found a new home.

That water bucket method works good too. I just never liked the idea of stagnant water with dead remains. **** like that can get humans super sick.

might want to start with poison Then shooting with bb gun. Regards.

Snap traps.

It's not safe enough using poison. We have dogs but also owls and other predators that eat mice, rats, etc. they find.

Wife and I store 3 cars each winter. I buy several bags of moth *****, actually looks like candy packages. Put a few under the hood, around the garage floors, and a few on top of the car covers
