Dave, if the c6 sensor was just "droped" into a 100mm alum. tube the readings from the maf would be way off due to the sensor reading the flow velocity and still figuring that the sensor was sitting in a smaller intake tube, so no you couldn't just easily make one yourself even if this maf is made how you say it is (which i am not doubting as i have not seen it).

its the same GM racing Stalk Insert Element thats used on the Caddy CTS V Race cars. The MAF scales work well, and its just as good as a speed density tune in regards to HP. I spent 3 days on the dyno with one, and the results rock.
because the back side of the hotwire is shielded from the back, reversion is not an issue like a standard MAF.

Short Block: Sleeved LS6 4.125x4.000, 11:1CR
Heads: LS7 ported
Cam: Katech torquer LS7
Intake: Production LS7
Throttle body: Production LS7
I think the restriction now is the crossover. There are probably more gains to be made with a better crossover and maybe airbox. I don't know what brand this customer has.

does the MAF comes programed i mean already set and only needs to alter while tuning.
i have a solid roller and my MAF is killing the power band and cant withstand the constent high flow

I've noticed that. I've got the stock ZO6 element in a 4" pipe on a ZO6 that I TT'd. Having a hell of a time getting it to run worth a crap with the MAF plugged in and noone offers a 2BAR speed density for it yet so I'm not sure what to do. Car is going back to the dyno Fri so I'm hoping by some miracle that I figured it out. I'm wondering if I should just buy the LPE unit and tune for that.
