Cool Custom LS7 Valvecovers!

Our site sponsor, ABear Motorsports ( www.abearmotorsports.com ) builds some top-quality billet valvecovers that hide the coil packs inside of them. I had them design a set of custom ones for my upcoming LS7 powered '69 Camaro SS. These should look wicked next to the CNC billet runner Beck cross-ram intake manifold that will be on the engine.

Here is the project car that this engine will be installed in:

j/k of course

man thoes look nice. any mockup shots of them with the crossram intake for me to drool over?
if i could change one thing on them, id make the top part brushed alum.. but the rest of the cover polished... kinda how the light looks on that 2nd pic.... give it a sort of 2 tone bare alum look....

Sweet:

Are those like the other ones on the site where the coils still mount on top of the valve covers, but have a cover of their own?

arent you worried about the heat that those coil paks can create and being in side an closed compartment and not having any air can cause issues

I wondered that too... but the coil packs are already heat soaked. I speculate there would be no issue. If so... I'd like to see proof. I am considering a custom pair of those for my daily driver truck

It really isn't much different than the plastic covers that everyone slaps on top of their LSX engines. The coil packs still work the same whether hot or cold.

Thanks Nine Ball, we appreciate it.

As for the coils, our test vehicle has had a set of our valve covers on for about 6 months now without an issue or engine fault code of any kind. Our test vehicle was used to tow a boat on 90+ degree days throughout the summer.

We'll supply some hard data soon as to how much heat it takes to kill a coil.

And just to clear up any possible confusion, we make valve covers to REPLACE the stock valve covers.

@ Mr. Dude - We do offer a multitude of finishes. Brushing included. Personally I really like them polished with brushed tops as well.

I haven't weighed them vs. stock covers, but they are heavier. Maybe 5+ lbs.

Man... I love them! Once I repaint my car I must have a set. I was going to do a coil pack relocation, but this looks like a sweet option w/o any need for new wiring.

If these will clear comp shaft rockers, I see another argument with my wallet in the near future.
