This intake will more than help a motor that spins that high. I would be willing to bet it makes 30-40+hp over a FAST at that point. Just letting it breath.

I had a ported victor jr and have et245s. It made about 30hp over the same setups with fast90s. I think I am going to try a beck sheetmetal. I also want to make a custom 4inch ramair setup with a 105mm tb. I think that will help alot compared to just have a open 4150 accufab.

As of today Wilson said ours is two weeks out still. Sounds like testing in two weeks for us!

i'm getting ready to build a 402 for my SS. i'm just going to buy a pre-assembled shortblock like the LS2 based ones from Texas Speed. i'll bolt on some AFR225s with a healthy cam. i'm still going to drive the car a lot, but i want it to also perform as best it can for what it is.

would that motor benefit greatly from one of these intakes, or would i be better off with a fast, based on your experience? Also, do they handle boost well? i know billet is strong, but the intake is only as strong as its weakest weld. Are they welded by hand or by machine? i don't know that i'll even run a boosted setup, but it it possible, so i'm just curious at this point. thanks

Your heads only flow roughly 320cfm. A ported FAST 90 will get you a little over 300 or so. It all depends on if that 15 cfm extra is worth $3k as compared to $1500. Seeings how no one has tested one of these, you may want to wait for some results.

Just got off the phone with a forum vendor, and they don't use Fast intakes on boosted applications after blowing one up into pieces and almost engulfing a C5 in flames on the dyno on moderate boost settings . . . .

They now exclusively use LS2 intakes.

Didn't get into the details or particulars, so take it for what it's worth.

yikes, that's good to know. they have burst panels, or at least you can put burst panels in them. did they not use one? or would it not have mattered?

Trying to find out when we will have more of these intakes. Last week the CNC that does this program was not working so Wilson had to get it fixed. Just put a call in to find out how soon they will have more available.

I just tested a billet LS7 intake on a 402" engine and it gained 17 HP over a stock LS7 intake manifold... It gained 10 lbs of torque too. My T/B added another 3 HP and 3 ft/lbs of torque for a total of 620 HP on a Super Flow 901 engine dyno.

Was this the Wilson Billet Bank, were they GM or aftermarket LS7-style heads, and how much porting on the heads? Thanks for the info.

E/T 4.0 LS7 heads. F-R-E hydraulic cam and T/B. Wilson billet LS7 intake manifold... @7200 RPM. 100 octane gas. I could probably run it on 91 octane gas but I didn't for this test.
