Default More LS2 402/L92/L76 issues

We also ran into a couple more issues today. The valve covers from the LS1 would not work. He bought L92 valvecovers for me and the LS1 valve cover filler cap wouldn't fit so he called the dealership and they told him an 06 filler cap would work. Nope, it isn't fitting.

Additionally, he bought the necessary coil pack brackets needed for the swap. The coil packs all fit but the #1 and #2 coil pack will not fit, it is hitting part of the cover. Do we tap or grind anything off to make the packs attach w/ out any issues?

The very last problem we encountered involves the map sensor (assuming it is the map sensor, part number 16212460). It is a sensor attaching to the back of the LS1/6 intake manifolds and extending down to the area by the firewall.
The one on the L76 intake is at the front of the manifold. Do we need a different harness to make this reach down to the firewall or could we just pigtail it?

Thanks

That is good to know about the valve covers I had not heard of that.

You can get the MAF extenson harness from SDPC. It set me back $26.95. It is actually from Katech.

You have a 98, which uses different valve covers than 99+ cars. Would 99+ valve covers work?

i used my 02 covers on my L92 heads. the problem is the driverside. you need to take a dremel and grind away the divieder in the head for the breathing vent then it fits

as for map sensor buy the pigtail or extend the harness....i extended mine

The LS2 only has one knock sensor on the right side correct?

I could not find a hole for the other knock sensor. (I am assuming those long black plastic devices with electrical connectors, on the side(s) of the LS1 block, are knock detectors.) The LS2 block only has a hole for the short one on the right rear.

I bought a SDPC/Katech cam/knock electrical extension harness, but the only connector I recognize is the cam- The other two I have no idea. OF course NO INSTRUCTIONS!!!

LS1 Valve Covers will work, you have to grind out the Baffles.
You have to move the MAP Sensor wiring to the front. Instead of buying an extention, it can be done by clipping it and extending it in the Harness. Make it come out by the #2 Fuel Injector.
