Default L76 intake package-why are the injctors to SHORT>! HELP

Wow, ok, all the problems earlier have been solved. Now, the 40# injectors that come with the L76 intake manifold/fuel rail/tb are not going to fit. They are about 1/2 an inch to short. They are shorter than the stock 28lb'ers rom the LS1.

What should I do? Do I use the stock fuel rail, bend some stuff, anything? I am ready to get this thing going.

You need an LS2 rail. Didn't the manifold come assembled with a rail? I am pretty sure it won't fit if you use an LS1 rail with shorty injectors.

If you bought the complete package, then you should have the LS2 fuel rails. If you bought the intake separate, then you'll need to purchase a set.

I believe they're the GMPP valve covers and he painted them.

Back to your injector question. The stock LS2/L76/LS7 injectors are very short and also require the newer electrical connector, they also have fatter tips than the older style injectors. I think they are 39# injectors. You can buy electrical connectors to link these new injectors to an older LS1 system for about $100/set.

If you want to use non-stock, older style injectors: You can run the LS2 rail or other aftermarket rails designed for LS2, but you still will have to space for the increased injector height. The other consideration is choosing the correct O-ring for the thinner tips of of the older style injectors.

I am using the Bosch Ford racing 42# green tops. I found that 3/4" long brass spacers at the fuel rail mounts works well, not perfect but I think well enough. You obviously need longer mounting bolts.

Next challenge will be how to mount the TB cable to intake. I have not found a good solution yet. The bracket I bought recently from one of the posters on this list does not fit.

My LS2/L92+L76 engine is physically about 95% finished after many parts/supply obstacles. I am waiting on springs and rockers currently.

Good luck on your build.

Well SDPC told my builder that the injectors will work. We got the 40# injectors and rails that come with the L76 intake manifold kit. We didn't relocate the coils, he just bought some different brackets. I'm not exactly what valve covers he used, but he got them to work. Thanks all, hope to get it running by Friday tops.
