Default Debating my LS2 402 Setup

First off, have been reading and searching religiously for information about the L92 Heads and L76 Intake. The car currently has CNC ported LS6 heads, FAST 90 Intake, NW throttle body, and 42lbs green top injectors... I would be selling the heads and the FAST intake. The LS6 heads just isn't what this car needs.

What I am looking at currently is the Livernois Stg 2 L92 Heads (upgraded dual springs), along with the L76 intake. In this process I would keep the NW throttle body and mate it to the L76 Intake (of course using the SLP L92 throttle brackett). I would also purchase 8 L92 offset rocker arms, and a LS2 fuel rail, and LS7 injectors.

What is the deal with L92 Pedestals and LS1 to L92 Injector Plug Adapters? Are these needed since it's an LS2? What are they? What kind of gasket must I use?

I have been searching like a mother and can't find the results I am looking for from the L92/L76 combination. I am very uncertain that this will give me what I want. Should I stick with everything I have now, sell the heads, and buy a new set?

Cam wise, I am really looking at TSP's Texas Giant, or MTI'S S1.

I also need to mention that the car has a TH350 with a 3500 stall and shift kit, along with 3.42's. This is a weekend/track car only and I can put up with a lot of crap from the driving standpoint. I guess I am mainly looking for an answer about the L92/L76 setup.

Thank You for your input.

Default L92/L76 Setup

The rocker pedestals are different. You can get the LS1 harness to LS7 Invector adapters are available from Katek.

You will also need knock sensor harness extensions. The knock sensors get relocated to the side of the block.

I went with Fel-Pro 1161's. You should get a gasket that is larger than the combustion chamber/bore size.

I should have an answer for you this week. Still sorting out some gasket issues for my 402/L92 set up.

What I am doing is building a Iron Block 6.0l, everything is the same as the LS1. I am using the L76/L92 setup as well. The Pedistals are different cause the Rockers are in different locations on the L92 Heads due to the Valves. I can post up a pic if you need one.

Pedestals are like $8 a piece from SDPC.
Need a Map sensor extension
Need injector conversion from Katech.
Need to fab a t/b wire bracket as the L76 intake doesnt have one.
don't know about the gaskets... Obviously!

Doesn't SLP have a package that covers all of the above?

This is the first I've heard of needing an injector conversion kit. How does that work?

Default Knock Sensors

You will need to relocate the knock sensors to the side of the block. The LS2 block does not have the knock sensors on the valley cover like the LS1's.

You use the LS1 sensors, you need to drill and tap on of the unused bosses on either side. The harness extends down to where the sensors are relocated.

There are pictures somewhere on the site.

The injector connectors dont mate up. It's basically a conversion connector similar to what you would using on a car stereo.
Hope that helps.
