I am running a 402 ls2 setup that eastside built me... makes 470 rw thru a 5800 n/a converter and th400.
With a locked converter, or a M6 I am 100% sure it would hit 550 rw or more to the tires.
If you would like more info please PM me, I can go over the build with you if you'd like

I say not a problem once again with some good heads, intake and exhaust. I am at 470rwhp with 241 heads that are ported by MTI and 1 3/4" long tubes. Get some big heads and headers and you will be in business. I had mine built with forged internals for an additional 2 hundred bucks in case I throw some juice at it eventually.
I would love to have the ET LS7 heads and LS7 intake! A 25x 26x cam makes my 244 248 look pretty mild.

Once again Randy__S.......you have a stick. There is a whole other ball game with a automatic car sucking up power through the tranny and convertor.I'm just warning all the A4 guys with good combo's.You might be very suprised at your RWHP #'s when all is said and done!It happens all the time........trust me from someone that knows. You got that right z28mccrory.......it'll be disappointing to say the least. On a happier note though the dyno is just a tool for tuning and don't take the numbers too hard.It will just give you an idea of where your at but the track is what counts.Take it to the track. Traver

They made 500 to the wheels with awesome driveability, which is sweet. But it was a very comprehensive build with a LOT of work in it, especially tuning and cam specs. The L92s are very different from other heads, and the perfect recipies and cams and intakes to take advantage of those HUGE intake valves have not been found just yet IMHO.
I would consult with WCCD or anyone who was involved in the build regarding useing the 402/L92 setup. They simply know more than anyone else I have personaly heard of. I'l try to find the link, its a very educatinal thread and really shows just how different the L92 heads react compared to the more common cathederal port stuff.

If you want perhaps a more aggressive build with the 550WHP number, you migh look at some 225 heads from the big name guys. They are little better known as far what recipes work.
Good luck man, no matter what, it will be a beast!

Again I'm sure the guys on here could get into the technical details with you.
Aluminum will melt more redily than Iron. It can deform under high temps more easaly. So when you spray and EGTs skyrocket, sometimes and AL block is a bit of a liability. Having said that, stock LS1s will east 100shots all day. So really its kinda relative. But for a huge shot, I would say that a built 408 iron block is a good way to go.

ETP 245s.....
PS If you're tryin to make that # with a high stall, non-lock up converter, you'll be humbled. A stall speed of say 4000 rpm, will soak up about 35 RWHP.

I can speak from experience of this setup... I am running a 402 with ET 240 heads, and a Th400 with a 5800 converter. I know the driveline sucks up about 70 hp over a M6, we've seen a car at the shop do the swap with a converter that was tighter then the one I'm running, and he went from 497 to 430.
my 402 with the th400/5800 converter makes 470 rwhp fwiw, and no it's not a pump gas motor.
