depends on the hp level u want and what power adder u will be using.

u could do it cheap..if that is just your goal..find a vette rotating assembly and use that or get a 427 factory crank..find some rods that fit it cheap and then order pistons and u got a short block..then get some l92 heads and l76 intake and be done..

i think a whole engine could be done for around 3 grand how u want it.

it would be cheap and u would be using factory parts..the cranks are good for 1000hp from what i've read..then depends on rods and pistons u get.

the iron blocks are good for 1000 hp..your only shooting for what 450rwhp so thats around 600 at the fly wheel.

pick up this months hot rod mag and they have a engine there doing with the l92 heads that makes good power.

i only run top of the line stuff which is high doller ****.

for what your doing a eagle rod is fine..pistons i like cp and diamond..if u plain on running juice down the road or are even thinking about it u will have to factor that into build..a n2o piston is alot diff then a n/a piston.the ring lands are moved down because of the more heat u get with juice.

would there be any disadvantage to running a nitrous piston on a N/A motor even if i decided to not use nitrous down the road? Increased quench maybe?

a n2o piston will have its comp height higher for the reason of running n2o..so your ring stacks are lower down on the piston, this is done because of the extreme heat u get in the cylinder when using n2o and it stops u from nipping the rings.

i think there is no real down side of running a n2o piston in a reg engine.the piston will probley be lil heavier and thats because the domes are thicker on them to handle the heat also..

u can go on speedtalk.com and ask over there..there are alot of top engine builders over there.

if ur using no juice, just get some eagle i beam rods for like 250, keep the stock bore of the 6.0 block and get a 4" stroke,
