I heard TBA. The drag race head looks to have massive exhaust ports on it.

Not sure either, just thought they might go with the same angle as the LS7 tyle head (which I think is 12 deg vs LSx valve angle of 15 deg), but I hope not so it would be a direct replacement head for me when they come out.

I spoke with Robin Lawrence @ PRI and looked at the plastic cylinder head that GM had on display. Awesome cylinder heads. The expense of valve train and intake will be costly though. Intake port is higher, exhaust ports are relocated and use a different bolt pattern. Similar to a B/B chevy. Valve train is also specific to these heads. Sorry, I forgot what the valve angles are. Robin had his Nova on display with the heads on his 440 LSX. His 454 LSX was on display in the Holley booth. Also with the LSX heads on it.

that sucks for everyone running lsx that went with ls1 style pistions now we have to swap pistions and intakes if we want to run the heads. i would have thought they would do a stock style head then a "racer" one.
oh well.

Hmm, that is not feasable. Becuase of the differences in the heads you would have to change pistons.
We had to change the pistons from the C5R to the LSX Race head.
The LS7 Street version will be a different layout than the Race Version as well as most previous heads.
I have heard there will be 5 heads, 2 race and 3 street. All that could change .

Robin

i have the dome pistion cut for a stock valve angle. the ls7, trick flo, etp all have different agles and no one can tell me if they will work. they say i would have to get the heads and check pistion to valve. they might fit. lol
i damn near died cracking up. yea sure i'll buy a 3000 set of heads try them then sell them if they dont work. lol

robin, i hope your right and i hope they make one that will fit my current set up. and i hope they do it within the next 3 months cuz thats when i need new heads for the up coming season

The LS-7, All-Pro and the LS-7 ETP's have 12 degree angles for your application or at least what you are looking for. The valve placement in these heads are different as well. At least I know the All-Pro's are. So are you going to be able to use the pistons you have now??? You may end up buying a new set of heads and have some new piston's setup for them.

Running in the 8's right now is halling ***. Do you want to run 8's NA? I don't know what you want. It sounds like you have a very good combination right now. Lighten up the car some more if you don't want to send the time and money on the engine. I dought if GM will make a head that will work with those piston's. Just take the motor out and build it. It's cold as hell up their right now anyway. What else are you doing? I know you like to work on that thing. Just kidding.

no, i want to run 9's na and 8's on spray all the time, my combo was working, but my afr's gave out on me so i need new heads and really wanted to see what gmpp came up with.

as for the cold as hell part, i have lots of things to do during the winter, likeplay with these atleast once a week shooting and cleaning them

and this which i love to do and wish winter was longer. i wish it was longer so bad i use it in the grass. hehe

I stand corrected.

Is that a Chief's Special in stainless?

I have two Sig's in .40 and .357 Sig. (226 & 239 SAS), a Smith 629 44 MAG @ 6.5" and several long guns. Enjoy them as well. No snowmobile yet. Our last snow fall was in 81'.
