GM says LS7 heads require a minimum 4.100 bore, anyone tried them on a 4.080 bore?

Default GM says LS7 heads require a minimum 4.100 bore, anyone tried them on a 4.080 bore?

Here's my logic: if you can swap run the LS3 heads (with giant 2.165 intake valves that are meant for a 4.065 bore) on to a smaller 4.000 bore without problems, I would think you should be able to run LS7 heads (with only slightly larger 2.20) valves on a 4.080 bore. Anyone tried it?

Figure I've got an LS3 block bored to 4.080.

I am not sure that it would work. I think the shrouding would be the problem. I know Texas-Speed was trying to put together some kind of LS7/L92 package but im not sure what came of it. Give Jason a call, I am sure he could point you in the right direction.

I believe the problem is the exhaust valve placemnt, not the intake. Not positive though.
