Default What headers for a 402 Stroker ls2? (in an Camaro)

I got a 402 stroker that needs a new set of headers. What do you guys think, some kooks 1-7/8th or the 1-3/4 stepped to 1-7/8ths?

Discuss.

You can get away with a 1 3/4 header. All depends on the car. Is it a track only car, street only, auto w/high stall. Stick with the smaller tube header if its not going for all our race. More fun on the street.

Its a "street car" but its really a race car. I drive it occasionally on the street but by no means is this a daily driver nor a street car. It is a max effort NA setup. Its got a mammoth cam, 4k stall, 3.73 gears (might do 4.10's soon). Car made 470 rwhp as a baseline and we havent really gotten to tuning it yet, I will have some dyno time on Friday to see what its really got in it.

I can recommend the TSP 1 7/8" headers. Great headers for the price, I haven't put them in yet but they quality is awesome for sure.

with that amount of hp you could use the 1 7/8 with no problems but the 1 3/4-1 7/8 would gain some sow end tq while retaining your top end hp.That is the route i would take.

If this is a max effort n/a car, I'd put the big ones on it, 1 7/8 stepped to 2 inch.

Think about it, if this is a race setup that's street driven a little, you're gonna have more power then you can hook at any speed under 80 anyway, so a little loss at the bottom end isn't gonna hurt. #2, when you are racing, when is the car ever under 5800 rpm? Maybe the first 10 feet, and that's it. That being said, put the parts to it that are gonna make the top end power. Think about it.... who has a race car that ever sees 3500 rpm on the track? Noone that's got a fast car, that I can promise LOL.
