I just did the swap for my 98 SS. My LS1 unfortunately spun bearing. Was able to use my original computer. You need Lingenfelter reluctor wheel box. Changed over to cable throttle body. And had it tuned. The tune brought it up to 480 at the crank. I guess it made up for the accessories. Torque comes in a little too high for me at 4300 peak. But I plan on fixing that with a 12 bolt Moser with 3:90 gears. Hopefully kill two birds with one stone. Car has a week 7.5 10 bolt with 3:42 gears with six speed. Hopefully I'll get that low end feel again. I like 0 to 60 not going 200 mph

Uh, you do realize that the last response to this thread was, like, 5 years ago.

Default Ls3 into an 05 chev short box Reg cab

I'm looking to get a connect and cruise kit from chev that has a Ls3 and a 4l65e transmission into a 2004 chev 1500. Just wondering if I'll need engine mounts or a different length drive shaft, any helpful info appreciated

Engine block should be the same external dimensions as what you already have.....tranny external dimensions should be the same as well.

I would get new engine mounts anyway.....just because the ones on your truck are 12 years old. And I'd take the opportunity to check the driveshaft out too.....verify that it's still balanced and undamaged.....
