I just did a L9H swap into my 2001 Camaro SS. It was actually really easy if you buy the right parts. Obviously the Lingenfelter crank signal converter is the easiest route and it works great. You don't need to buy all the wire extensions, you can make the knock sensor wires longer as well as the map sensor, just make sure you buy some heat shielded wire protection. The LS1 map sensor requires an extra 'o' ring to be secured into the LS3 intake and we also built a small bracket to put pressure on it out of aluminum. I bought a 92mm throttle body with the throttle cable because drive by wire is crap IMO.
The specs:
2001 Camaro SS (LS1 ECU)
6.2L L9H (2009 Escalade engine)
Custom cam (w/ Comp 921 springs)
Cast 823 heads (stock)
Hooker LTs 1 3/4, Y-Pipe to Borla muffler
92mm TB
85mm Maf (soon to be 100mm Z06 Maf)
Stock lid, ported for larger ID into MAF
S60 Rear End w/ 4.10s
On a very conservative tune it made 428rwhp, 405rwtq. Waiting on the MAF install and another more aggressive tune.

The L92 rear port on the drivers valve cover is the "dirty" side which routes to the nipple on the LS3 intake just behind the TB. The clean side comes off the front of the pass side valve cover and you have to pipe it somewhere into the intake tract AFTER the maf but BEFORE the TB. I also advise a catch can while your at it. Dual Saikou Michi is a good option
That said I didnt consume hardly any oil with mine just running it without the catch can but this seems to be less common.

I used a L9H from a 2009 Cadillac Escalade and my LS1 computer runs it just fine. I had to use the Lingenfelter signal converter box because of the 58x reluctor and I changed back to a compatible 3 bolt cam to replace the VVT.

whats the part# for the cam cover kit now? 12633906 is the one I came up with, is that the right one for the swap?

I know much of this has been beaten to death, and many of these questions have been asked and answered in excess, but for the life of me I just want to make SURE I have every angle covered. I just picked a GMPP LS3 crate motor, obviously this is a complete engine with intake, rail, injectors, sensors etc.. From what I gather, this should pretty helpful since there are adapters for virtually all the newer sensor hardware in use with older vehicles like my '00 WS6. Couple things I want to be sure on though:
1. Will the LS3 fuel rail plug right into the original fuel line?
2. Will the LS1 rear cover be required, or can I use the LS3 rear cover already installed on the motor?
3. I've gotten mixed answers on this, but do I need some kind of adapter for the LS3 MAP sensor, or is it just an extension harness for location purposes? I see folks selling extension harnesses but I haven't seen adapters for them as of yet.
4. I'm assuming the oil pumps are interchangeable as my idea was to install my low milleage ported LS6 pump, any problems?
TIA for the input, keep up the good information and the patience!

Seeing as my car is up and running, I'll go ahead and answer some of my own questions here in case someone else comes across with the same questions:
Yes.
LS3 cover works just fine.

No problem.
You're welcome..... kinda get the feeling I'm talking to myself
Yes.

maybe I missed it.... but what about the ls1 style oil sending unit? The valley cover that came on my buddies ls3(it was a gm 485 crate motor that was pulled from a kit car) has a total different design oil pressure sending unit. I haven't had time to check to see if I can put an adapter in to make it work.
We are not trying to keep any of VVT, AFM or anything. Shooting for a stock bottom end LS3 record car so none of that will be used but would like to keep the factory sending unit.
