800hp ????
I am looking to build a N/A 800HP motor that will still be able to take a nitrous shot of up to 300hp. Tell me what parts would you use in this build and why?
1. Block (6.2 L92 or LSx) What C.I. ?
2. Heads ( Ported L92 or aftermarket) Which brand and size ?
3. Cam (hyd. or Solid) specs ?
4 Crank, Rods and Pistons ?
This Motor is going to be a Carb application. I want to keep it running on 112 octane or lower. Preferably as close as possible to pump gas. Do you think that 800hp can be acheived on pump gas ? If not then what is the most horsepower that can be made N/A on pump gas in a Gen IV and at what C.I. ?

Mine's making close to 750hp NA on pump gas and is built to handle 300+ shots of N2O. I'm only running an 11:1 compression ratio. Bump that up to 12 or 13:1 and you've got it. Mine builds peak power at 6700-6800 rpms and uses a hyd. roller cam.

I was thinking of 441-454 LSx block with TEA Trickflow 235 or 245 6 bolt heads with a 25x int 26x ex( or bigger) at 65x lift hyd roller with 12 or 12.5 to 1 compression. I think the 12 to 1 should be on the limit for pump gas. I think this should net me 750hp-800hp N/A. What do you guys think ?

I would try to build the biggest motor you can. Which i think is a 481 but you should double check with the supporting vendors.
800hp is about the point where you want to look at a sheetmetal intake, SR cam, shaft mount rockers, etc etc. So i would figure out exactly what you want out of this motor and build accordingly.
If you dont need the extreme top end pieces the motor will be alot closer to something you can daily drive. Otherwise is going to be a "race" setup that will not be fun to deal with on the street.

The 6-bolt heads will be a must for holding the heads down on a high compression/high nos motor along with upgrading the head stud sizes, the cylinder pressures will be insane. I think a higher compression 427 (13-13.5) run off E85, plus solid roller will get you there comfortably NA, sheetmetal intake included. If you really want to run a Hyd roller, you'll have to run a larger cam to realize similar power. LSx block would be my choice as well, unless you want to run the Warhawk. Not sure on this, but you may want to also consider the LS7 heads as they tend to react very nicely to nitrous applications due to the port shape and volume. ETP LS7 6-bolts maybe?
You're looking at some pretty pennies for the parts involved and having it built right. It will be a VERY exciting build!

I will agree that the 6-bolt heads would be favorable on this setup, but they are not completely neccesary. Afterall, Wheel 2 Wheel was running a twin turbo LS1 with ungodly amounts of boost and made 2500 hp before reaching the limits of the stock 4-bolt/cyl. design.

Contact Noyzee, and see what setup he is running. He was running a 250 shot on a LSx 427 that was running low 9's on motor. Good amount of power there!

Anyways, 800 hp will require alot of specialty parts. Don't think you'll get it done at only 12.5, with your average 235s. More compression, C5Rs, or similar.
Sheet metal intake, solid roller.

At 13:1 mathematically you should exceed 800 on that dyno.
That being said, that's 1.8 per ci. With that assortment of parts, that pretty damn good.

You should not try and build the largest motor you can if you plan on shooting a 300 shot on top. You're going to need head gasket sealing surface, especially between the cylinders. If you cut the holes too big, you will have little head gasket material left. A 454 is pushing the limits of the bore you want to run to be on the safe side for the 300 shot.

I run a 454 with a sheet metal 260's cam and TFS 245's.
Hitting the dyno in a couple weeks, but I don't even expect more then 640rw.

for 800bhp, you need about 680 rw, so you need more compression for sure.
And a 481 isnt what you want if you're looking for a 300 shot, lol. Lots say stay with a 441, others say a 454 is alright also. LME builds their 454's for spray, like the one I have and they have some out already with no problem. All who you talk to.
GL with a 800hp goal. Sounds expensive. I could see you getting close with 12:1 Solid roller 454. you're gonna pay a mint for heads though.

It just doesn't sound like a 750 hp combo. And at 6800 rpms to boot.
I know it was on a superflo but still................
