Please post those pics again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to the GMPP web site, these engine will be complete with a carb style setup, and they will only be offered with an 58x reluctor wheel crank. This means they will not work in you 24x crankshaft cars (all f-bodies and most other cars up to 2005).

wrong, that means in that form they wont work...they will work, as you can use a non carb'd intake, and change the wheel on the crank.

What is the point in buying a crate engine to tear it apart, pull the crank, have a 24x wheel added, and then reinstall everything? You wanna buy some land in Louisiana too?

Not me. Why they didn't offer these engines for one of the most common swap bodies I don't know.

What with the "land in Louisiana" though? Heard of a "bridge in Brooklyn," but...

Thanks for the interest in these engines, folks. They are going to be a great new addition to the GMPP portfolio.

Plan on being able to buy the LSX 454 and LSX 376 by Q1 2009 ... a little later for the LS9/LSA. We are working on pulling the LS9 ahead, but we've run into a delay.

As has already been posted, feel free to check out all of the specs on these products at www.gmperformanceparts.com.

Here's the video link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sqs6...5D3708&index=1

Also, we will have a new product coming out so that you can drop our 58X crates into your 24X car. It will make life much easier for everyone. If you are planning on installing an LSX 454 with the LS7 intake into a car, we'll have a complete LS controller and harness ready by mid-Summer 2009.

All of these products will be on display at the PRI show in Orlando starting on 12.11.2008. See you there .....

Oh, and we'll have a few Camaro surprises for you as well.

Thanks,
Jamie

Awesome. GMPP is really stepping things up. It seems like there's this wave of LSx tech on the near horizon just getting ready to crash over us.

I think I have successfully resisted the urge to order a non-white Camaro this year. I'll drive my cam-only 4th gen all next year, then order a white Camaro. Then, I'll be able to surf this wave with the rest of 'em.

im not arguing the fact of having to do some sort of labor to make the swap...if you think all these engines will just drop in, you are on something. I mean looking at your "combo" why would you even comment on this? the parts you have listed are drop in at the most. I was pointing out that you were wrong. They can work.

why didnt you just buy an 04ish pickup instead of dropping elec fans in?

come on.

Like Jamie said.....we should have a fix to allow you to use the 58x engine in the early F body or 24x harness.

I'll be testing it this week

I would not make assumptions and say "looking at your combo". You just made yourself look like an idiot. I have worked for Wheel to Wheel Powertrain (manager), Thunder Racing (manager), hired for LG Motorsports race team, and a few others. I just might know what I am talking about junior. Been around this game as long as anyone.

Also, being a long time member and moderator on LS1Tech, I like to contribute to folks so they don't follow the advice af dumb-asses (not mentioning any names).

and by lookin at your combo, i meant what you have in your sig. maybe you dont know what that means...but ill let someone else explain that to you

Settle down boys...... I am older than both of you

Points made, but the LSX Crate engines WILL drop into most applications

And I am not "on" anything

Feel the love.....

Robin, do you know if the wizards at GM have considered or are working on an adapter to let the 24X run in a 58 car also?? This is great news, thanks for sharing!
