Default What cam would be better?

For a C5-427 all the bolt on's.I have the Texas giant cam 248/254 .615/.622. The car pull's up to 7k rpm easy,I really like this cam,But you know,Alway's looking for that little bit moreWould one of these cam's make alittle more power from Comp cam's-255/263 .624/.624 115LSA-------259/267 .624/.624 115LSA

You already have a good cam in your car. I would look elsewhere for a added HP gain

I have Patriot heads but I'm in the process of putting on Livernois stage 3R heads on because the Patriot heads were for a 3.90 bore.As for compression I'm going to guess about 10.5.I had about 3 or 4 different cam's in and the Texas giant seem's to be the best one I have in it so far.........Thanks.............Paul

I would agree, you may find some more peak hp but you will sacrifice something to do it either low end torque or driveability.

Its a 114 LSA.I drive around town with no problem with a SS4000 Yank TC.My idle is set in drive at 1000rpm and park is at 1100rpm.It doesn't seem to like anything lower.I had 3 different cam's in the car,They would stop pulling around 5800 to 6000rpm,The Texas giant cam seem's to be the best one so far,It pulled up to 7000rpm no problem............Paul

Your compression should be 11.5-1 if you want good power with a big Cam.I would probly try to push it towards 12-1 on pump gas.

Agreed, more compression will be even better! Since you're getting new heads, now is the time to get that bump in compression via chamber size!
