Default L92 cam recomendation

I've done multiple searches on cam selection but still unsure on what the L92's like? Can some chime in. It will be for an stock LS2 shortblock for the time being with multiple typical bolt ons(exhaust, headers, intake, etc.). I hear people talking about split, reverse split and what not. What do these heads benefit from? Do they like lots of duration, lift, tight or wide lsa's. Car will be N/A with the occassional spray.

I have one of the earlier Cam's spec'd for L92's and it's a close-split LSA. The trend recently seems to be a wide-split LSA. Mine pulls pretty good till about 6500 RPM's.

I like the 234-240 112 +0 XE-R cam I ran in my 403 L92 setup. I made 510/470. Back off 4 degrees on each side for your 370.

My $.02

Retard 4 degrees? Is this to avoid PTV issues?

I think WKMD meant 4° less duration on both or 230°-236° because of the smaller engine. As long as you are paying for a "correct cam" (aka custom cam), you might have one done just for your combo.

Couldn't hurt...might help!

What would change if you threw a sheet metal intake into the mix?

I made the list just for reasons like yourself. All the cars are stock LS2 bottom ends. List the tranny, port work or not, cam specs, and track times where applicable.

How can this one be right?

DaGoat6Litre 459/436 M6 222/224 .566/.568 112

That don't make no sense.

I might have to sell this sheet metal and get an L76.

What doesn't make sense the fact it is a small traditional split and makes good power?

The fact that it's a tiny cam to make 460hp. I can't figure out if the big split or traditional split is best. Obviously mine if a big split, but it doesn't feel like it's making anywhere near the power that it should.

238-242 .605-.610 115 LSA. Turbocharged with ported L92's. Awesome driveability, and huge power. GM single plane with elbow.

I am mainly looking for a bumpstick that will make descent power N/A with a 150 shot on occasions. Its got to have a nasty lope and not have any PTV issues on an LS2 with flat tops. The L92 are stock for now and I will be having a ported L76 intake. So basically a stock LS2 with L92 and the basic bolt-ons. I'm trying to see what's working for people doing the L92 head swaps.
