The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Car is running great! I have about 2k miles on the motor, its really tearing it up. Driveability is MUCH better than before, and it is definitely making more power. I took it to Stenod for a dyno session. Made 451hp and 400 rwtrq through my crappy exhaust/9"/heavy rims/tires. Numbers appear low, but they aren't, I assure you
For comparison's sake, they had a C6Z06 ported heads/cam/intake make 450hp on the same dyno even though it has lighter internals/better exhaust/lighter drivetrain/ported heads/intake. I don't know what cam it had in it.The topper: we uncapped my cutout, untuned (only paid for 3 dyno pulls) and running near 14:1 AFR through most of the run it netted an additional ~30hp and ~25ftlbs through the whole pull. We cut the run at 4K rpms and it was ALREADY making 451 hp at 14:1 AFR haha. Spark is set at 30degrees AFR at 12.8-13.1:1. Amazingly, no detonation.
I also went to Test and Tune last night at Milan, only got two passes in, first pass just puddling through the gears ran 12.6 at 117mph, 2.4 60ft. Second pass, spun for nearly 100 ft, and had to pedal first till I got traction, then I hit the rev-limiter lol. Ran a 12.7 at 122mph (shifted a little quicker) 2.7 60ft. On street tires ~3800lb race weight, so its a pig. I also severely need the !Driver mod haha.

PSI LS1511 Max Life Springs with Katech Retainers. Probably one of the best spring/retainer combinations you can get for the LS7 heads. The retainer alone only weighs 5 grams. 1.85" install height, coil bind at 1.10", max lift .700".
