My 454 LSX NA Build
For the record, this clutch is actually awesome, the new sintered iron disc are wonderful... pedal pressure is effortless, stop and go is no problem, engagement is smooth, and the clutch is holding the power very well. now I just need a rear end and tires. (tires started spinning at about 5000RPM in 4th gear... (over 100MPH))
I just gotta figure out what that rattle is in the clutch...
Also, as far as the power band, a few of the runs I was shifting over 7000 and it was still pulling HARD!
Moving backwards... Pulling the engine....
Gonna redo some stuff, Ill be pleased, probably going to get the heads milled. and maybe a new cam...
Pulling the engine will allow me to more easily track down the ******* electrical gremlins, but im happy as I will get to do a few things the way I wanted, now that I have a little income again.

What do you guys think of this new coil mount I made? location? any thoughts?
This is just a first draft, ill make a new one tomorrow.
I was originally going to try and use oil pan bolts... but it looks like the motor mount bolts will work out better, or some unused block bolts.
Pictures are courtesy of my thunderbolt. damn impressive.

Well the car is torn back apart, and I was planning on getting the heads milled... But talking with a few people, I hear that Hi-Compression is a ***** to get street tuned... This being a street car, that sucks...
So Im trying to decide if I want to get the heads milled, or I was considering throwing a D1 or something on it, and just run a few pounds...
This is all just so damn expensive... lol.
If I get the heads milled, Ill have WCCH do their whole thing on them... and then I need new exhaust valves... new rockers would be nice while Im in there... and I definitely need a new intake... Also I was thinking about putting in a bigger (duration) cam.....
...maybe next winter.

What kind of high compression are you talking about? Don't you do your own tuning? If your worried about it take it to a professional. For as much money as you have put in the car you might as well fly Frost up and have him tune it and do it the right way.
I will be doing my own tuning, I no longer trust "professionals" and will NEVER again put my engine at risk giving it to someone that doesnt have stake in the $12,000 engine if it blows...
I hope that makes sense... I researched a lot, as I do before any decision for this car, and picked a "professional" tuner that I trusted implicitly... I got bit, had a horrid experience. So the term "professional" is kind of a sore sport for me.
I dont want to give up on this, assuming it might be hard to tune... I gotta see if itll be worth the hassle.
Well I decided on the way to work this morning, that I am just going to get the car back together(making the planned cosmetic changes, but skipping the changes that require spending big money)
Also, I am going to go to 93oct, to make initial tuning easier, and the ability to drive without worrying about winter mix E85... next summer I can switch back to E85.

Yo Trev, i give you an 10 for effort and same for perseverance, at the top of the scale. Let me make a simple suggestion, no offense intended, if you get a cam spec specific, for your application, you will get better results and more power with stock like idle, {except for the music} than if you go with more compression, and will run cooler as well, and the best news, it will cost a lot less than going the other way, in a sentence PATRICK G. for just $25. bucks, you got a try him, yeah the questionnaire will be 3 pages long, but that will O in on your purpose & desire, and will work the first time. Of course if you want to make power you got a rev it a lil, so ask like shift points at 6.8 and red line at 7.2 per say, sure will meet your expectation. Camhelp@guerragroup.com, good luck and MARRY CHRISTMAS to you sir.
I started trying to work on my valve covers today.... Grinding down all the bosses...
I got the first boss off and decided that it is not worth the effort. I'm not sure what I will do now.
My end goal would be Katech CF valve covers and a Halltech CF112 to replace the plastic MF107R I have now...
But as I'm sure everyone knows, the katech valve covers are $$$

I'm really not sure who told you this but?? I have virtually the same setup with 13:8 to 1 compression on corn and the things drivability is excellent
