My 454 LSX NA Build

Well as busy as I am, my birthday is thursday. and my present to myself is driving the car. So i need to get it done.
I got the clutch figured out and trans installed, this past weekend. so now I just have to re-do all the aftermarket wiring, to make it much more organized.
New Video soon, my birthday, ill probably burn up a few old sets of tires. The black marks on my driveway are starting to fade...
Well, I got back into working on it again... re-wired my gauges with some distribution blocks(I was having low voltage issues)..
finished a bunch more small stuff, and working on tuning...
First start up in a while.... its literally spraying fuel out the exhaust, and fuel pressure was set to ~45psi... :/
also, unfriendly noise coming from under the valve covers...
gonna tear it apart tomorrow... not excited for that...
Also, I still!! can not get my LC1/gauge to read... WTF, is there one thats retard proof?, cause that is a problem...

Man good luck on the valve train, i have a build close to your. I had to get some custom push rods do to the morel link bar lifters..... but your going to love this thing when you get it up and running.
I just put on some ported LS7 over some ported LS3's.... and you really can tell the differance...
good luck man i know how it is getting to the end and seeing the light

The innovate widebands are a pita to get working right, I have a lc-1 and lm-2....and a NGK AFX and a Dynojet permanently installed in my car...o would recommend selling the lc-1 for the NGK....JUST MY $0.02
thanks

just a suggestion, don't give up, but the AFX is a kickass sensor. the LC-1 isn't impossible to make work, but i remember what a pain mine was. i resolved the issue one night when i nearly bottomed out on a country road....the harness coming out of the sensor on my LC-1 was what kept me from completely scraping
Nice build .. but guys with LSX N/A ..
just a question .. isn't the weight of the block on the nose of an F-Body will make trouble with handling if you use it for road race .. or even traction if you floor it in the street ??
Interesting ..

The LSx Block weighs 120 lbs more than an auminum block. Thats alot of weight over the nose of the car. I personally wouldn't know, (b/c I chose the aluminum route) but I think that there would be more nose dive, and it would take longer to transfer weight. So I would think it could cause issues with a road course and/or a street/strip car. But theres always other ways to compensate for the added weight. Like removing the ac, front crash support, front sway bar, relocate the battery to the rear, and etc. That's just a few ways to compensate for it. But your def. on the right direction as far as logical thinking. Just means more attention to other details if it is a road course car. For a street car, it wouldn't really matter. Theres nothing to prove on the street IMHO. Theres too many variables to consider when street racing!
Traction, gearing, weight, power, transmissions also play a role in that too... But I'm sure you already know that.
OP, Hope you get the valvetrain issue figured out! That's a bummer!!!

Nice setup . BTW we went a best of 127.5 mph in heaviest model VE G8. This engine made 706hp with a carburettor engine dyno. At the track it shows 650 HP with LS7 intake and EFI factory pcm, looking at mph/weight you need 670 to go 130mph, it would have shown it if we didnt have convertor issues. This motor has had a quite bit of head development and several camshafts, both hydraulic and solid, custom made merge collectors. The more cam that went in it the more it made. This dyno has had a lot of import engines from all the big names and is up to 150hp down on some claimed dyno sheets from state side, so she is harsh but accurate to the moroso rule which always is the most accurate indicator back to back.
With a new convertor it lost 80 hp(innefficient) on wheel dyno still to be one of only a few cars to be able to run a ten in a full weight street driven aspirated VE A6 which even the big shops have struggled to achieve..
Your engine would make very good power but I would say a genuine 600 hp at the crankshaft in the real world.
Individual throttle bodies do work well if they are big enough but 2 inch diameter is to small you want 3 inch or more on a big bore engine as they do not share and help each other a Tunnel ram would murder it hands down same as a MAST single plane no comparison.

It's better for you to work on a sleeved LS2 block.
Got the car out on the road for the first time in months!... and really. and I mean really tore **** up... OMG, OMG I love this ******* car... it is literally insane. OMG. I think you get the point.... OMG.
I got a lot of tuning left to do, there are still some huge issues. Something crazy is happening below 3000, so driving it around, I had to dump the clutch and make a pull, and then coast... it was annoying but still the best time of my life.
Thanks James. Its just problem after problem...
The noise I was hearing turned out to the the clutch, so I took the trans out again, found a bolt loose... Retorqued all the bolts, with fresh loctite 242... Ran the car saturday night (Maybe 20miles)... tune was messed up, but it still ran strong. Real choppy under 2500RPM but cleaned up perfectly above 4K
Started the car this morning rattle is back... WTF...
Im thinking it may be time to unload this used textralia and get something New in Box with a warranty... and from a company with better customer service

Now get that thing on the dyno!
