I know Erik over at HKE knows his ****, and he really likes teh Morels (and most on this board as well) and I too would not skimp on that part of the build, at all! Think of how much abuse a lifter takes, and if one comes apart or fails to pump up (hydraulic lifter) the damage that will ensue. Not pretty.
My machine shop was supposed to call Erik and get some lifters through him, not sure if they called yet. My motor is taking a bit linger than I had hoped.
But, they always do.![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
Rockers. I would just bite the bullet and go T&D or Jesel On my L92 heads, rocker selection was basically nada! I need an adjustable rocker (solid roller) and the few options were teh Crane setup, but they used a rather wimpy hold down bolt (I think it was 3/8). Jesel also offered a shaft setup for $2000![Barf](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_barf.gif)
And T&D offered a shaft setup for $1200.
Yella Terra is SUPPOSED to be coming out with an adjustable rocker with a decent size hold down bolt (I think 7/16)
Yella Terra makes an adjustable setup already, but because of the small hold down, they do not recommend that setup for anything more than 400 Lbs open spring pressure, so that was a big no-no for me.
For the most part, everyone will agree that Jesel and T&D are pretty close in quality, so for teh $$$, I went T&D.
Your build looks killer, should rock and roll pretty hard

I already decided to ditch the CTSVR Lifters. and grab some morels. as for rocker im gonna get my stock rockers rebuilt by HS.
I guess im just worrying about the shortblock now. I dont have alot of money to spend 8-10k on a 454 shortblock... and i dont wanna wait 3 months for my block. so im looking for options.
BTW i was looking at a 4.2 bore and 4.1 stroke.

LSX block. Like i said before, I know you want to be able to piecemeal this whole build together, but you will be saving yourself LOTS of time and money by getting in contact with a sponsor. I would HIGHLY recommend you PM 99BroncoSS for some quotes on your build. He does all of his builds through HKE and has great pricing. He also has Morel Link-bar lifters in stock

Well, I can understand that. But let me give you some advice from my previous experience. Waiting is nothing compared to picking yourself up and starting all over again. In hind sight, if you receive a build quickly, you're either paying a whole lot extra OR you're getting a low quality build. Low cost and high quality in a short period of time usually do not go hand in hand unless A) you're an experience builder with no work at the moment or B) your best friend is an experienced builder with no work at the moment. Otherwise, I guarantee you 100% that buying parts separate yourself and then shipping them to the builder will accomplish nothing but EXTEND your build time.
In this case, if you're getting the TSP PRC LS7 heads, contact them about getting your motor build done through them. I'm sure that will save you some time, and I would not go any lower than TSP quality.

I keep hearing that. but i havent really heard any particular problems with them
and that is who i was planning on buying my shortblock from. I never planned on buying a rotating assembly and having a local machine shop build it for me. and im not saying i want it super quick. idk. im really confused but in a few days ill have money for my shortblock and id like to order it. So i need to figure something out.

Ok, before you just order the shortblock, call up TSP, and have them quote you for the LONGBLOCK. Tell them you have the double roller timing chain and oil pump, and would like to use the Morel lifters and that you have a source for those. You want to use their LS7 heads, and would like them to spec out a cam for you based on your preferences (driveability/power/etc). They will quote you a price that will include everything else that you need. You need to get a quote on paper from them, so you can really look at the pricing. You can order the longblock how ever you want...with oil pan/intake/rocker arms or without all of those items. What you really need to get is your new motor built with cam degreed in and installed, and your heads AND rear cover w/main seal installed. You can add on your oilpan, LS2 front timing cover, intake, rocker arms etc when you receive the motor.
Things you generally don't want to mess with are:
Degreeing cam
Installing heads
Measuring pushrods
Installing Rear Main seal
Shimming windage tray.
All of those above you can do yes, but you want to leave all of that to the experienced builder so you will be worry free.
If I were you, and in no way do you have to take my advice, this is what I would do:
Call TSP and tell them you're looking for a 454LSX Longblock setup with their PRC LS7 heads.
You will receive a quote from them, then you can add/subtract items that you have already or will need, and you can adjust any parts that you want/don't want. You just have to pick up the phone, and make the call, they will help you out!
