Default LS2/L76 shortblock cost?

This is NOT a for sale ad so don't ask to buy this here and don't post a price just for your best interest.

I have this new stock LS2/L76 shortblock that I probably won't end up using. I really don't know what it's worth if I were to sell it. What would this typically go for with pump and chain?

Complete crate engines have been selling on Ebay for less than that.

Isn't that an L92 6.2L block and pistons? The L92 VVT stuff shows behind the timing cover, and the L92 pistons have those exhaust valve reliefs for P to V clearance as the VVT cylces.

Good eye! Yes, you can see the cam phaser in the first pic. However, the last picture shows the 6.0 stamped outlined in blue. It is a L76 out of a Pontiac G8.

OK! Thats the first time i have seen a block with the capacity engraved on it vs cast in. Guess they are just coming out of a different plant/foundry maybe.

Thought the bore to bore dimension looked too large for a 6.2L, but then wasnt aware that the G8's came with VVT, thought it was only DOD/AFM in the G8 L76's.

Learn somethin new every day!

It should have just a regular cam gear in there.

G8s (L76) do NOT have VVT.

Also, I haven't seen valve reliefs cut in the L76 pistons yet. Now, granted, I've just seen pics on line, I haven't had my heads off yet, but I have seen pics from 5 or 6 different guys who have swapped cams and removed the DoD stuff from their G8s.

After Googling, it seems there is a truck version of the 6.0 L76. It's called the Vortec 6000 6.0L V8 (L76), it differs from the car L76 by adding VVT.

Typical GM confusion, they named both the car and truck versions L76.
