Default L 92 engine mod. questions

I have a new L92 and wish to make some mods. including a non vvt cam and need to include a means for a cam sensor on the timing cover. I believe that I need a component or two to do away with the vvt and also don't know if I can use the existing lifters. I am aware that the vvt is potentially a good thing but for my application not needed . Thanks in advance for input. JC

The lifters have to go. IIRC you will want to replace the oil pump also.

It's going in a 33 hot rod, kit car from Factory Five, with a tremic TKO 600 trans

VVT potentially good???? VVT is awesome, peak torque and power everywhere. No losses anymore. I just cant understand everyone wants to be stuck back in the days of the small block chevy....

Now Active fuel management(AFM) that can go, heavy lifters and wont take over .500 lift when deactivated. So you basically cant do a cam with AFM.

AFM is GMs term for DOD, yes.

Its just how the lifters are designed.

Does it have AFM though? He only mentioned VVT...

If you only have vvt you can use your lifters,to go with non vvt cam you have to change the timing cover, timing chain you can get a cover for like 90 bucks with cam sensor through scoggin dickie.
