what would it take to get 500+ rwhp na
i have a 402 forged stroker and am looking to have a 500+ rwhp na build and the most cost effective. i am starting with a flat top piston with 4cc relief. i will put a nitrous kit in it later.

I am in the same boat as you, except I am building just a touch bigger 404". Ported FAST / TB, 1 7/8 headers, good flowiing heads and a medium sized cam should get 500rwhp. Stepping up to 525rwhp with a medium sized cam will need some really good flowing heads, 350cfm. Of course if you go with an aggressive cam, that changes the power structure, but they are also tougher to tune.

Why would you need a head that flows 350+cfm? You could easily hit 530 rwhp with the proper cam and a set of cathedral port heads... Never heard of there being an airflow requisite like that... Look at Tony Mamo for example, 383 and AFR 205s making killer numbers, and that's with a head flowing 300cfm or so... There's much morento it than that.
