I have used the first cam in a ls1 and loved it. Just wondering how it would work with the low compression lq4 with ls3 heads.
The first cam has a lot of lift on the intake side which is not probability not needed. The heads are very strong on the intake and can use a 6-10* split to compensate. So, something like 228/234 ~.600/~620 112 lsa will run cleaner. Always verify PTV to be safe.

You can take ~.040 off the heads to help CR. Any more will give you fit problems on the intake manifold because it narrows the V wedge between the heads.

Anyone have a phone # or web site?

I could be mistaken but I believe the first one is the one Phillygoat originally had when he made like 486rwhp.....

Virginia Speed is a great choice. They are the only ones who were able to help me fix my combo, LS3 topend, 408, and turboed, street car here looking for 800+rwhp.

Talk to Shawn at Virginia Speed.

I have used 4 other sponsors on here trying to fix my combo with no luck. Cams, intakes, tunes, turbos, everything in the car and I have had the best results with Virginia Speed.

Did you run that combo yet? It looks to be really stout. Whats the boost and compression you have? V Speed builds some exotic toys. Cant beat experience when you have a problem.

What about the lobe seperation in the past with ls1s I have liked going with a 111. Do these l92/ls3 heads like more seperation?

Compression is 10.25:1, I have not finished tuning it. I am waiting on my smaller AR turbine housing to get here. It should be here Monday or Tuesday I think. If the new housing fixes my lag problem then I will start tuning it over again. I have yet to raise the boost over 5psi. Once the lag is fixed I will work it up to a humble 15psi (or were ever I wimp out, which ever comes first ). I still need to build my 4L80 and swap it in before I get too crazy with the boost.

Running a methonal kit and plan to run 100% methonal threw it. I also will be running 100% racing fuel at 10psi and above. I plan on running lots of timing in this thing so fuel has to be good.

Running on a Speed Density Open Loop tune.

My setup is weak compared to what they build. They make some very killer stuff there. I know they regularly build stuff over twice the power levels of my goals. I have alot of respect for them and their work. My customer service experience has been great with these guys too.

Those look like Crane lobes, I put them in my Performance Trends software, it is not the best one I've seen, what made you choose that cam of the gazillion others on here?

Wish I had a jet, I would shoot over and go to lunch too. Some day I plan on taking the family to DC on vacation. Might get a chance to drop by their place then.

Why did you decide to go with a Darton sleeved block instead of a LSX?

I was wondering the same thing, but I'm sure it has to do with the weight of the LSX versus the aluminum block. I had talked to the guys at ERL and liked what they had to say about sleeving an aluminum block. I have decided to dry-sleeve my LS1/LS6 block for the "stealth" factor and the weight savings over an iron 6.0L and the LSX.

Hi guys been running a 224/244 crane with .625lift 112lsa in a 6L(called a L98 in Aust but a L92 in US i believe and had great results but after adding a FAST LSXR/102 n/w t/body and not getting much gain i'm about to install a 231/243 comp .617 .624 112lsa.

Anyone used this or similar??? it's a custom grind getting heads milled and ported aswell

Cheers Paul

guys what do you think about this...i have a lq4,ls3 heads, and a vic jr intake(carb) ive been trying to get a feel for a cam, i would like to see atleast 550 fwhp+ i plan on milling heads as much as possible. so friday i called texus speed to get a recommendation from them...they recomended

http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...=1055&catid=44

according to them i'm very limited because of comp and ptv and stated that if i went bigger i'd have to flycut and and would loose more comp and it would be a wash....
now comp got back to me and gave me this

http://www.compcams.com/Cam_Specs/Ca...csid=1090&sb=2

even smaller....
carcraft did a test with the the next cam up from the one comp suggested and made 551 hp but alot of people say it will have poor driveability...
any ideas car is a nova with a t56 weighing 3350 w/driver. so far i'm leaning towards the texas speed cam....but would like options...
