With these heads and that cam you are probably leaving 15+ on the table.

1 3/4 will be fine for a 6.0L.

Just came across this thread and thought I'd add my .02...

At the OP cam...too much intake, and too wide a' lobe for "street manners".

I'm running a 224/232, .625, 113* cam. It lopes just a bit, enough to sound really badass...but doesn't rattle my teeth out at a light. It's not fully like stock, but it drives pretty smoothly for an LS3 putting 570/550 to the ground.

It DOES have a bit of an off-idle stumble. But I've noticed that's developed since I've had it in slightly higher altitudes from where the car was tuned.

very interested to see your results. Im leaning more towards their stage III came. Any reason you chose to go with the II or III? or not mill the heads?

For Nimitz87: The specs are 227/239 .614/.624 115+3...

After readnig everyones result with the lil bit smaller cams w/ LS3 heads in 6.0s I figured I'd give it a try....I didn't mill the heads so that way I could have some options after I see how it does. I was worried about PTV clearance also but from my measurements I'm in the clear...

Thanks

I came up with something a lil over .108 for intake I can't remember for exhaust....I'm no professional though. This is my first complete engine build so it's been a learning experience through and through...The gaskets are stock .51~.55 IIRC....and pushrods are I ordered are the stock 7.4 length...I haven't installed them yet..that way the springs didn't have constant pressure on them sitting there not moving...

Why are the pascesetters too small? I see everyone running them for the most part. Those Kooks and QTPs are too expensive does anyone make a bigger header around the pacesetter price?

As for the cam, I guess I will sell the MS4 but then what? IF I want this --> It will sound like a freaking pro-stocker while still knocking down excellent street manners and big power. lol then who makes the cam I need? Like I have said a few times now in other threads lol, I want it to sound as if the car is trying to hock up a small child just after it ingested him through the intake lol but of course I dont want to sacrifice power.

A 408 making over 550 is just nasty and if I can duplicate the setup on a 415 (or 425) then I think at 600whp is realistic... no?

Im just bumping this so it doesnt get too buried

stay with short intake durations.

Cary's intake starts at $825.00 with fuel rails non ported. If you're interested in one,let me know,i'm the #1 Performance Inductions dealer.

A frt style tb will NEVER be as good as a carb style-air does not like to turn, the straight shot is always better
Thanks for the info. I guess I will be selling the MS4.

As for the Cary intake, I will be hitting you up when I recoup on some of this spent cash.

I appreciate all of the info on which cams work the best on L92 heads. It is very interesting to see which cams work well with non-CNC ported L92 heads, which is what I am considering due to being a budget build kind of guy.

From everything I have read so far, a cam with around 220-230 intake duration at 0.50" and exhaust duration at 0.05" of around 230-235 sounds like the best. For a 408 LQ9 build, that sounds like the best. Does anyone else have experience on the best choice of cams for this kind of build? This will be more for daily driving, not too often at the drag strip.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-lsx-automobile-discussion/1249817-keeping-car-stock-4.html#post13026894[/URL]Post #73

I tried. I really did. Four months later and I've got a cam/pushrods/dual springs, supercharger, high flow oil pump, headers/x-pipe, and on, and on.

I had originally planned on just doing "stock swap" mods..parts from other LS cars that are upgrades to what I have (had). (LS7 exh manifolds, Z51 sway bars, etc...)

But it has gone far and away from that and now puts 600 to the wheels. I just couldn't help myself. LOL!

How do these cam specs sound for a stock bottom end LQ4 with unmilled L92 heads and a GMPP carb intake: 232/238 LSA 111 0.620/0.620. This will be on a weekend crusier that will see a lot of time on the drag strip.
