hey anybody that wants a eldelbrock proflow xt on a 05 06 gto it is possible.I got a shop in delaware and could not see spending 1100.00 on fast intake for my 402 stroker so i just delt with it .when the 7139 came out i had to have !!
I took and made to custom solid motor mounts that droped the engine .70 of an inch had 2 3/8' rails made that dropped the k member down dropped the trans 3/8' in the same way had to cut the tb flange off round the edges and mount my stock ls2 tb upside down and relocate powersteering resivoir to my heatshield all n all took me 8hrs but the look and power r awesome havent tuned it completely yet but ill go to wed. will c then

would think those custom lowering mounts should make it handle a little better as well.

That's hotrodding right there... having a target and modding to reach it.

I'd love to see some before/after dyno numbers just for jealousy sake since it's not going to fit on a fbody, at least without doing even more than you've done already.

Where do you get $1100?? They are $835 shipped on ebay. I run one with the same 90mm DBW TB you have.

I agree this is a true hotrodder, I love the dedication to making it work, not matter what the challenge! Is someone going to make all these custom parts so everyday people can buy some kind of "Install Kit" have a chance to do this also. How much do you think it would cost?

I know GTOs have independent rear suspension, and I know very little about them, but is there any issue with changing angles on the torque tube, or whatever they use in place of a driveshaft?

Where did you get that? I'm reading 8hrs?

a fast intake with fuel rails adds up to around that. When i spoke to bob in the middle of the install it had took me about 3.5 hrs to get the hood to shut just with the intake on then clearancing the throttle body my nos plate relocating the ps resivoir making fuel lines and extending some wires killed the rest of my day all n all 8 hrs not bad though considering the outcome.the motor mounts were made from a rigid bodylift kit for a jeep it worked out well actually their made from steel and 2 3.5" grade 8 bolts and that was dun

oh yea goats still have a driveshaft all i had to do was space the carrier bearing down 3/8" also angle stayed the same there is alot of shake from it at idle i got a big cam 248--254 638lift 111ls and it idles at 675 rpm so u can imagine the funny thing is with the stock ls2 intake the lowest i ever got my car to idle was 825 and the eldelbrock 675 came easy

Damn that looks good with the goat valve covers! In the other thread guys are bitching about how bad the design is because you might have to grind a little for fat injectors. I'd also like to say nice hotrodd'n, nice to see work trumping bitching. Did you have a baseline drag time, or dyno run to compare to later?

i suck at math but thats roughly 1 inch isnt it? if you was to install this without the drop what would hit? besides the strut tower brace

how thick is the top of these intakes? think there is a chance to mod the intake to fit instead of dropping the motor, tranny, and DS bearing ??

Looks good. You say the motivation was because you didn't want to spend the money on a FAST (which I can understand), but how much extra did it cost to go through lowering the engine, trans and k-member? Did you make the new motor and trans mounts?

I had seriously thought about that intake but when I saw the work involved to make it fit on a camaro, I had to give it the old for my car.

Richard says they act a lot like the victor (3500-7000 rpm) but shorter runners, so it would have to be for a lighter vehicle, looser converter and lower gear or something that can afford to give up so much bottom.
I'm running a 4L80E, 3000 stall with 3.73's and don't want to change and give up driveability. The fact is there is nothing out there currently for most of our trucks. FAST is supposily working on a truck only intake but sure it will be big $ when and if.
So I'm going back to the LS6 intake, it falls off some at the top but I was in the high 7's at the 1/8th with it so not too bad.
My only regret.........I sold my LS6 intake.................................
