Default Valve locks for L92's

I need some valve locks for my stock L92 valves. Will just a regular Ls1 valve lock work? Thanks fellas.

Any recomendations? Are they all created equal? Would something like this be sufficient? They seem to be genuine GM parts.

as long as they are LS valve locks, they will work. If you want aftermarket, then prob the comp 623 or manley will work for you. I have all those on hand, both the GM and the comp and manley. For the most part, the L92 uses the same valvetrain (besides the valves of course) just like the rest of the LS heads. Some differences like steel caps for ti valves on the LS7 and a few diff spring types, but the locks are the same from the run of the mill LS heads

and they are actually the same as some other locks from the GM V6 engines and others as well.

Do you know if these take a lot of shimming to come into spec? 1.800 is what my valve springs say to install at.

that is normal LS installed height. they are all roughly the same thickness, but some shimming may be required to reach your installed height that you want. most of the time they will be very close though

i do not personally see a need to go about fine tuning the valve train as such to that extent for just a mild cam. but make sure you have better springs than stock/LS6...because that is right on the line of the LS6ers.
