Default Forged Piston Recommendations???

I am building a Darton re-sleeved LS7 with high piston speed and would like a recommendation on the absolute best forged piston.

Thanks,
DF

I've been told that coating helps, but eventually wears of and your tolerances increase.

well you are not supposed to make the piston smaller just because you are coating it. you measure the bore, get the appropriate piston and then you coat it. the coating is so thin it really does not make that much difference. look at the factory pistons.

Doesn't the potential damage occur with the connecting rod and bearings with high piston speed?

If you are talking higher than normal piston speed, what stroke are you talking if non stock 4" stroke? (its either a hi rpm engine or a longer stroke or both to be talking about "high piston speed" right? )

If the Darton sleeves are longer for a longer stroke, best to talk to Wiseco or Diamond (etc) and see what skirt profile/length + crown/ring land setup they recommend for your application.

J&E has always been the "ultimate" piston to me. But Diamond or Wiesco will work just fine also!

I'm between a 4.125 and a 4.250 stroke. The programs say the cam will make good power to 7500 rpm.

Does any one here besides me run Ross pistons? When mine came in I placed on up next to the Wiesco, Diamon, and the JE pistons, WHO what a difference. Check into them. If I am not mistaking they are the number one piston for NASCAR and NHRA teams. I know when I ordered mine they told me there would be a delay do to the Nascar season was coming up and they had to get all of those orders out first.

Ross Pistons, check them out, you said the best and I would be suprised if there is anything better then Ross Pistons.

I run a set of ross custom nitrous pistons in a lsx 427, and i'd have to say they are pretty nice! They have reinforcement (webbing) on the underside of the piston which i thought was pretty cool! Defenitely some nice pistons, and i'll be using them again for my next build.
