Default LQ9 question

what would the compression be with a stock LQ9 and L92 heads ?
do they raise or lower the compression.......
i am trying for a very budget build but still have a reliable engine..... currently
i have a 5.7 ls1 engine with aps twins at 8 lbs of boost..........made around 470 to the wheels....... was gonna do nothing other than swap in a LQ9 out of an 05 escalade and do port work and a cam and my twins on 8lbs of boost...........was hoping to be at 600rwhp.... will the stock internals hold ?
and should i stay with the stock head ? are they 317's on an 05 escalade?
oh.... and my trans is a th350 with a vig 3000 converter.

it would not change your compression changing to l92s. if you want to push more power i would reccomend changing out the rod bolts. if it were me, id leave the 317s on with a little port work. not gonna say it makes more power than the l92s but with fi you dont need the flow like na.

keep the stock 317, should be equipped with 317 or 035 but very rare to find those heads now. usually they come with 317 and flat piston, lq4 come with 317 and dish piston. the stock scr of lq9 is 10:1 the l92 will raise the scr slightly subject to gasket used.
the 317 have 71cc and l92 have 68cc chambers.

ok.... so here is what i am thinking..... trying to keep this project on a budget. stock LQ9 with ported 317's with good springs and rockers , mild turbo grind cam and good pushrods , good rod bolts and oil pump. nothing else done........ plus my aps twin turbo kit on 10lbs of boost.... should make descent power ?? if i can get 600 to the wheels i would be more than happy.

that sounds about right, really the ported heads are not a necessity, but will help. a basic clean up of the bowl, vj, chambers will more than enuff. i would recommend the stock cam since it was designed to move a heavy vehicle that tows. or a ls6 cam is popular also. im gonna use ls9 gasket from here on out on all my builds, fi or n/a

thats almost exactly what i am going with. stock lq4, rod bolts, 317 heads, z06 cam & intake with twin 50s. i would like to push it to maybe 12-14 psi and hopefully it stays together...
