Default LQ9 to L92 Head Gaskets

Hey guys, well my question is does anyone know the part number of gasket that I would need because I purchased L92 heads for my GenIII LQ9 6.0. I read that they have to be 4.065 sized gaskets. I got this part #12610046 but dunno if its the right one. All help appreciated...

I just swapped L92 heads on my LQ9 and #12610046 is the correct number to use.

4.135 bore does seem a bit much on a 408 but that is just my .02

im not saying they will not work. but when you are trying to hit a certain CR, they are kind of like working backwards to the cause

Basically you are trying to up the Compression with a thinner Gasket, but with the bigger Bore of the Gasket there is still that open area and it doesn't really help in a way..

It's like taking a thicker Gasket and smushing it..it's thinner but the Bore is bigger so you really aren't getting rid of that Compression area that is there.

Thinner Gasket with the small Bore would be ideal.

because the bore is so large, the area that the gasket makes will contribute to compression ratio. idk why you would use a bore size so large on the gasket for such a small bore. there are other gaskets out there that are better suited.

interesting i never realized that bore size of the gasket attributed to cr,
i guess because of my ignorance i could have made a better gasket choice

second question(sorry for the hijack)
how does it affect the quench area?? would it be benefit to run a larger bore gasket to increase the quench but not raise the compression so much??

The size of the Gasket Bore does affect the CR..you can run a thinner Gasket with a bigger Bore to not make it as high compared to if it would have a smaller Bore.

You will need atleast a 4.085" Bore Gasket to take full atvantage of the L92's..I think the stock 6.0l MLS Gasket is smaller than that.

Quick questions SWEETS10V8 since you did basically the same swap... What lifter trays did you use Stock Lq9 or other ones? I already ordered the 6.2 MLS Headgaskets, 8 Offset Rockers, L92 Heads, LS3 Intake, 92mm Cable driven TB. What else is needed or am I missing? Thanks all appreciated
