Default Time For Some Lifters!

Building a 440 as seen in my sig with the PRC LS7 heads, i plan on running no more than .660 lift.
I am looking at the Lunati lifters with the linkbar hyd. I would do the Morel lifters with the linkbar but i am not looking to spend a near 600.00$ on lifters.
The motor will be shifted at 7200 and limited to 7500.

Reviews on the Lunati lifters? Please.

The Lunati's are usually more than the Morels.

The Lunati's are also made by Morel. I am not sure why you would spend all that money on a motor and they state that a Morel lifter is too much. There are very few lifters that will handle the lift you are looking at without having oiling issues. There is also more to the Morel then cost, better materials, more precise machining, better roller and bearings, etc. Also made in USA.

And Morel is prolly made by someone else, cuz at the end of the day there is only a few lifter manufactures out there that make them for everybody!

Knew someone was going to say that. It's because a few venders said the LS7 lifters would be good so would the caddy racing lifters, but i would like to go with something aftermarket.

Any idea where i can get the Morel hyd. linkbar lifters? I'll pick them up. Just did an hour of research...

Scoggin Dickey should be able to get you whatever you need. I have been working with John@Scoggin and have been very pleased with customer service and prices.

I had the caddy lifters, and was impressed with how quiet the valvetrain was, but then had a seat cup fracture. I need to eat my word's.... Went back with the Lunati Hi Rev link bar setup (made by Morel) and valve train seems to be even quieter.

Default Link Bar Lifters

Yep, Lunati #72532 is what I got from Brian @ SDPC.

When I finished up the top end on my 454, I tried to save a couple $ and reused my old Comp R lifters = Mistake.. Had to drop er out and stuffed in the Link Bar lifters. Now smooth n no valve train noise !

OH, BTW, if you do go Link bar, You may need pushrods about .125 shorter as the Morels/Lunati's are Taller. At least the set I got were taller.

Comp has a new link bar lifter available. Look like a nice piece, but I don't know of anyone running them yet. I think they go for around $475.

I think the PBM lifters are Morels also and I think I have seen them for around $500 also on the bay..

I am waiting for my stocking order right now but but I usually have them in stock. You also have an option for the hi rpm Morel but they are in the $750 range.

Clarify what "high" RPM represents. FWIW I bought my Morels from CC Performance and am happy with them so far. So I have the non high RPM Morels that I thought were good to at least 7K . ?

Yep, you bought the right ones. There is a limited travel/thicker walled one beyond what you bought. Designed for sustained higher rpms. The box' IIRC says hi performance or hi rpm. If you were going to be holding it at 5800 rpms and above for an hr or more at a time you would step up to the other one but for drag racing your not at those rpms for very long. Sorry to confuse, we made sure you had the right ones though when we talked.

The Vettes run 24 hours at Le Mans, 12 hours at Sebring and 1000 miles or 10 hours what ever happens first at Petite Le Mans at Road Atlanta. LS series engines have never had any durability problems in the AMLS racing series over the last 10 years. My DD (452/418) has 192,000 + miles on it and has seen the red line every day of its life and it is still running strong. I think that the LS series engine is a miracle of modern engeering and design.

The vette ALMS engines almost never see over 6k. IIRC they make peak power at 5800 rpm. Completely different setup than anything found on any street any where..
