Question Engine build Ls3 418 or lsx 427

It be for ls3 C6 vette i like to get 800 rwhp

Current mods with 580rwhp
A&A Vortech T-trim supercharger ( might get YSI upgrade with 427 )
ARH 1 7/8 heads

I been looking to build an engine for a while and now is the time So the plan from my shop for reliable engine for my everyday driving and trips at 800rwhp but it looks like an overkill for me i seen some push more than 1k whp with that setup. I just don't know what to do

GM LSx Block 427
Custom Arias Forged pistons
Callies DragonSlayer Crankshaft 4" stroke
Oliver Billet Rods
CNC Ported LS7 heads

I am thinking like

LS3 418 ( current block )
Wiseco or Diamond pistons
Compstar Rods
Compstar or Dragonslayer Crankshaft

I like to get an LS7 CNC heads for 418 or should i send mine for CNC'd

Semi expensive build there, we can do a LSX 427 or 434 for $6610 with Compstar rods and crank.

It's all about money and how much you want to spend. A 408 will make 800 rwhp and be more budget friendly as well.

Most Vette guys also don't like the added weight on the nose of the car either.

Our typical HKE precision racing engine is built with Callies Compstar rods and crank and Wiseco pistons. ARP mainstuds and ACL race coated bearings. The Wiseco piston offers features for free that others make you pay for.. so it's a great piston for the price.. That does not mean because its less expensive it's a cheap piston..... you need to look at what you get for the money.

If you give us your ideal budget to work with we can spec out an engine that makes sense for what your goals are. Dragon Slayer crank and Oliver rods are overkill for what your looking to do. We do offer an All American forged engine if thats what your looking for... We use Oliver or Carillo rods and a Dragonslayer or Magnum XL crank or Sonny Bryant, but it's more money and honestly overkill for 99.9% of the cars built on this board. We will build what the customer wants but we try to advise like it was our money being spent and look for best value and quality in a part within the given budget.

Curious though why would you go with Oliver rods in the LSX 427 but Compstar in the 418 ? We offer a 416 using your block.. 4.070 bore vs a 4.080 bore (418).. we like to leave more material in the sleeve.
