i love the sound of my solid roller 402 just sounds plain nasty!!!! havent been back to the track its closed up in NY since i switched to a solid roller and more compression but the last time i ran with my hydraulic cam i ran a best of 10.93@127.the only time i ever hooked up good i think ever.

What RPM are you wanting to spin to? Anything over 7500 rpm's will most likely need titanium valves and aluminum rods with a really stiff spring. Big cam's will make more power but also requires much better spring for open and close pressures.

in my humble opinion, you lose more hp from the manifold design than valvetrain control issues. ie even if you have a solid roller, its still not going to carry the rpm like it would if it had a sheet metal or something.

good luck. i want a solid roller setup but haven't been able to get all warm and fuzzy with the heads. although i love the cathedral port stuff (currently run tfs 235) , the ls7 ports rpm better and with a solid roller would be **** I think. not sure if the new fast 102 is going to work with it...but thats the ticket i'd take. i'm all for revving it up...but the valvetrain is only half of your equation.
