Default solid roller guys please step in

I am thinking of changing to a solid roller setup. I have a C5 6 speed with a LS3 418ci, AFR 225's, Fast 90/90, 12 to 1, with a hyd roller 251/258 660/595 on a 111 + 4. I have the motor pulled down and want to make some changes. I run a direct port and a plate on the combo but mostly run on motor. I am thinking about changing the hyd to solid. My motor makes power to 6400 and falls off. It makes 550/500 on motor. I am looking for more power and rpm to better my ET. My questions are.

Do you like a solid roller over the Hyd?

Does the solid still have good power down stairs?

What lifters, springs and rockers are you running?

What cam are you running?

Dyno graphs?

I have been talking with Tony (AFR) and Patrick G about a cam choice. Tony is a awesome guy and has taken lots of his time to educate me and help me make the correct choice. I want to do a max effort all motor combo but still hit the juice when needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wish mine was going to cost $80.00. I calculate around $3000.00 to convert.

Can't say enough about it. You won't be going back to a hyd. cam.

What lifters did you go with?

Can you change the cam without pulling the heads?

What springs are you running?

You can run a soild roller cam with the hydraulic lifters. Several cars out there doing this. Coach's car is one - very similiar cam picked up 30rwhp.

Patrick G speced me a new cam. It was a solid roller cam running hyd lifters. If I used that I would still have the same problem I am running into with my old cam. The motor makes power to 6400 and falls off due to valve control. I was running a 251/258 .660”/.595” 111LSA +4 advance

I am looking to make more usable power in the upper rpms

I'm going to be using a solid roller in mine (stock stroke, 3.902 bore), a COMP 256/260 0.690 lift on a 106 with DART 225's. Can't wait to get it going (it's close), going in a dirt circle track car. Looking for 7800rpm or so.

Sounds like you need more valvespring to me.

Going solid now. I ran comp and patriot springs. I set them up close to coil bind for maximum pressure. It's not like my power just fell off. Peak was 6400 and started to fall. I don't think the can should of peaked that soon. Cam made great power and loved the spray.

best to call them and ask. For example, they make a set for ETP 11* heads, but its not listed anywhere to my knowledge.

iirc you have a choice between jessel, comp (I think.. i'm 50/50 on that one), and Harland sharp.
