Not a six speed but a 4l65E
you will probably have to modify the tranny tunnel.
you will need corresponding electronics, or stand alone computer, ie. Compushift.
Don't know if bell housings are compatible. but with the size of the tranny it may require a low mounted engine-I modified my engine brackets and the cross-member.

Thanks guy.
Just added a 4 link Glink, DA Varishocks, 600# coils, ATS spindles with SKF C6 race hubs, Moog joints, Prolite fully adjustable UCA and SPC LCA, DSE quick ratio box and Baer GT brakes with Hydroboost. It really feels like it is on rails now. Built as a corner carver but with enough straight line power to leave a lot of my Nittos attached to the pavement.

Default Wichita

Nice camaro there in Wichita.... My sis lives up in Moundridge n I'm from KC (on the KS side) but currently in JAX. FL. Gotta go where the work is these days ?

Good luck on the 6 spd auto swap The BOD.. Should not be too much of a hassle as the 4L80E fits with a lil work on the tunnel. The 6 spd auto, well, maybe a lil more work?

I have a friend in Italy with a 68 camaro who I'm trying to get to go LS1 with some auto.. ?

Beautifully executed example Dave SS. Underhood looks really excellent.

Looks like you have Caltracs on the back there. How do you find the traction on the street tires? Or do you need to go to drag radials to get it to stick?

I need to do something on my 68 with LS7 and 6L90 as there is no traction in first or second.

FYI - build on 6L90 is here:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...o-does-go.html

LS7 is LS7 block, Callies crank, forged etc., with L92/LS3 heads and intake.

Over 5,000 miles up now, but there is some finishing off that needs to be done underhood and also paint next winter, to get it as clean as yours.

Does the A/C (looks like Vintage Air) take up much room under the dash?

Sorry Bod, I got distracted by DaveSS's 69 with LS7

FYI here, should give you some insight into shoehorning the 6L80 or 90 into a Gen 1 F Body. :

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conver...o-does-go.html

FYI - 6L90 is around 1 1/4" longer at the rear than the 6L80, but case dimensions are pretty well the same other than that.

Thanks for comments.
I swapped out the Cals for C. Alston's G-Link 4 link system. Some of these pics are older, I have since also upgraded to a Delux interior.
The AC is a Vintage Air system. Nothing like driving around with the top down blastin' cold air. The underdash box is fairly large and requires you to modify the cardboard glove box, or remove it altogether like I did.
I added a larger console box with cup holders-yea!
There is no traction in the lower gears at half throttle. I have burned thru MT's and on my second set of Nittos. Seriously considering Davis Technologies traction system
But since I've just finished it with new mods in July, I'm going to play with launches and traction first.

Thanks
look at Pro-touring.com and do a search there is alot of swap info on that site.
Talk with Mark at Bowler transmissions, I have their 4l65e now after going thru three others, no problems. He is accessible and very knowledgeable and will help.
