Is the aluminum LS2 from a Trailblazer SS the same as the GTO LS2? If not what are the differences??

The engine itself (block, heads, cam, rotating assembly, etc) is the same, but it has a different throttle body, intake, oil pan and obviously the accessories.

Stellar. It'd be swapped into a Z, so the intake, oil pan, etc will be swapped anyways. I'm assuming the GTO or C5 6 speed will bolt up without issues?

not the c4 6 speed. Those are mounted in the rear and are a transaxle set up. The gto 6 speed is like all other f bodies, mounted to the engine.

So the GTO 6 spd WILL bolt up? Seems like the TBSS motors are alot less than the GTO motors, so that's why I'd like to find out what'll work together so I can find the least expensive solution for a swap.

Thanks for the help!

As stated above the longblock is the same. The 2006 TBSS has a 24x reluctor wheel and 2007-09 are 58x. I think in some other applications the 2006 had a 58x ??
