I would think that flame travel in this max effort, high boost application has something to do with it too.

I will get some pictures up next week. Things have been pretty hectic at work; not to mention my weekends have been spent in the snow on my sled.

I also have run into a little snag with the crank, Callies is saying they are still 8-10 weeks out on it and it's not like 4.375 center balance stroke cranks are laying around on peoples shelves. To keep things progressing for the engine dyno I might just stick a lunati pro series crank in there until Callies is done.

Yep we deal with this all the time ! If its not a crank it's the pistons
(At least it will be done right though, I've heard about your crank)

Well, the pistons are done. Thanks to Diamond Pistons and my brother Jon who works in engineering at Diamond and designed these bad boys for me. Here are a couple pics:

The block machine pics will be up soon but I have magazine and media articles that need to get the best pictures first.

Thanks!

I thought about the tall deck for my build as well. However I already have the 4.00 crank and rods for the shortdeck. So i'll just be a 440 for now. How long did you have to wait for your pistons from diamond? Anyway, looking forward to seeing the final result!

The pistons took 2 weeks to design/manufacture and 3 days for coating.

I can only wonder how much CNC porting will be done on those heads and the flow numbers that come of it.

You read my mind... Did you receive them CNCed from GM or as rough castings?

This thread has big potential! Those pistons are beautifull. It's great to be connected.
