I am looking for the best intake option right now. Fast is out due to rpm restrictions.
Looking at a Beck and Harrop
Can't find tuner less than 12 hours away to tune the Harrop and I would have to switch to EFI live OS

Waiting for those video clips...
I asked for around 11.75:1 compression. Who knows if the engine builder combined with the shop got close to that number? Cam is a ~260 duration/~.700 lift hydraulic roller. I'll take a couple videos of it idling when I get home tonight.
I'm looking to pick up an additional ~30hp and slightly improve driveability. I'm hoping a few little tweaks can achieve that.

to the OP, i was wondering what the cost difference between a sleeved ls7 to get the 454 over the ls7 440? do you guys planning on spraying a lot? if not, it seems like a lot of added money for 14 extra cubes. added safety?etc.. im just wondering what you guys are trying to do.

That car makes 460 rwhp thru 2 28mm restrictors. Thats not a lot of power last time I checked.
Ive spent 2 seasons with the kinsler ITBs. The amount of care they require is asinine for a street car. trimming, bank equalization, idle, each cylinder trim all come into play.
Yea, its necessary for a 500K race car that needs every bit of HP it can get. Its pretty stupid for a street car.
If you work on your car for more than an hour every 1k miles, its a race car or a poorly built street car.
For the record, we made 687 rwhp thru a stock LS7 intake and 100mm TB on the last 8.0L we did I wonder if it could have made 700 with the FAST?

I can't speak to the exact dollars on this, but I can tell you that Jason already had an LS7 block laying here that had a cracked sleeve....so rather than buy an LSx block an have the added weight, or go with a new stock LS7 and be a bit more limited on cubes and strength, he decided to send the broken LS7 block to Steve at Race Engine Development and get him to work his magic so we could get a bit more out of the combo and stay aluminum (was that a run-on sentence??).
im not sure if you guys are considering this or have done it, but are you guys going to throw on a fast cathedral head setup after your ls7 285cc head/ intake and compare?
on a side not, i am not sure which i like better yet. all i know is, is that i want a 3.90 gear with my m6 28"tire with shifts at about 6800k on my street car. i do know i want a 440 w/ your ls7r cam.

Getting this thread back on track guys.. it's to discuss the PRC 285cc heads not some race car.
I'm putting a set of PRC 285cc LS7 heads on a 454 LS7 I'm building tomorrow. I'll be happy to take some pics & give you some engine dyno data when I get it together!

Just wanted to point out. Those 28mm restrictors, are just barely bigger in cross-section than an American Quarter.
I'm sure with them removed, your talking about a 200rwhp gain.
With such a small restrictor, I have to assume they expiramented with port and valve sizes, because often you will gain with a port and valve combination most suited for the restrictor.
